Exhortation:
As part of the Lord’s Prayer model, we are instructed to pray saying, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:9. Our God is the only wise one; His foolishness is wiser than men. There is a way that seems right unto a man but the end is destruction. Let all men be liars and God be true. Many are the counsels in the heart of a man but the counsel of the Lord shall stand.
The will of God is the best course for any man that discovers and submits to it. The Lord’s will is His purpose, counsel and desire for each individual. The angels and all the heavenly hosts carry out His will and fulfill His purpose in Heaven- Psalm 103:19-20. .In the same way, God expects us to pray for and actually do His will also on Earth.
His desire is clearly spelt out in His word. For example, the scriptures say, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.1 Thessalonians 5:18. Also, Paul wrote, “For this is the will of God, even your sanctification that ye should abstain from fornication.” 1 Thessalonians 4:3
The counsel of God is that we seek His kingdom and all His righteousness as a priority over and above every human ambition and earthly pursuits. Matthew 6:33.
