Text: John 3:8
Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation:
Jesus compares the activity of the Holy Spirit to the wind—unpredictable, unseen, yet undeniably real and powerful. You can’t see the wind, but you see its effects—just like the Spirit’s work in a believer’s life. This imagery emphasizes how the Spirit moves mysteriously, yet powerfully—affecting everything He touches.
The word of God says, *The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So, it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” John 3:8
On the Day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit descended as a rushing mighty wind, signifying the dramatic and dynamic arrival of divine power. This shows the Spirit fills, moves, and transforms environments and people-Ats 2:2.
The Spirit works unseen but powerfully. He transforms lives, families, churches, communities and nations. He brings renewal, comfort, and life. The Holy Spirit moves freely as He wills, not bound by human plans, limitations and deficiencies. Just as breath sustains the body, the Spirit sustains the soul.
Just as a sailboat catches the wind to move forward, we must position ourselves to be led by the Spirit. Like the wind, the Spirit may move gently or powerfully—we must stay spiritually alert. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill your life anew, just as He did at Pentecost.
Prayer Nugget: “Holy Spirit, breath of God, blow over my life. Fill every dry and lifeless area with Your power. Help me to move in step with You and be transformed by Your invisible but undeniable presence. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
