Exhortation:

When he was about to depart physically from the Earth, Jesus Christ, the Comforter said, “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, which he may abide with you forever.”  John 14:16.

The Holy Spirit is other Comforter sent from the Father to guide you into all truth, to show you things to come and to teach you all you need to know in order to live a godly and fulfilling life.

His job is to strengthen you and help you and to uphold you with his righteous right hand. David said, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4

When you go astray, his rod and the staff are meant to correct and guide you back to the right path as you travel on the narrow way. It may be painful at the beginning but when you endure patiently under the chastening of the Lord, comfort is the result.

In today’s text, Apostle Paul wrote, “Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

When God comforts you in your trouble, he does so in order that you also may extend that comfort and be a source of comfort to others who are passing through difficult times. When you share your testimony, it brings comfort to others and strengthens their faith.

I pray that you will enjoy the comfort of the Holy Spirit all your days in Jesus name.

Prayer nugget: Comforter, I rely on you; please anoint me with the oil of your comfort all the days of my life in Jesus name.
