Text: John 16:33
Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation:
Jesus spoke these reassuring words to His disciples: “In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” He was preparing them for the reality of life in a fallen world. Tribulation is therefore not strange to the believer’s journey.
The world in which we live is affected by sin and its consequences. Pain, disappointment, sickness, and opposition are realities that even the righteous encounter. The presence of tribulation does not mean the absence of God.
Scripture reminds us that “many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all” (Psalm 34:19). God does not promise a life without trouble. He promises His presence and deliverance through it all.
Beloved, when tribulation comes, do not conclude that God has abandoned you. Often, trials are simply the evidence that we are still pilgrims in a broken world. Yet God remains our refuge and strength.
Therefore lift up your head and take courage today. Though tribulations exist in the world, they cannot overcome those who trust in the Lord. With God on your side, you will rise above every challenge.
Prayer Nugget: Father, please, grant me the grace to rise above every tribulation through the victory of Christ.
