Dreams Vs God’s Word (1)

Date: Saturday, 28th September, 2024

Text: Psalm 33:10-11

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Dreams come when we sleep. There are three sources of dreams. Dreams can come as a spill over of daily cares, worries and activities- Ecclesiastes 5:3a. In this case, you see yourself continuing the activities of the day in your dream. Like someone who played ball during the day and sees himself continue the football playing in his dream.

Secondly dreams can be the handiwork of the devil. One way to know a dream is the work of the devil is that it comes with fear. Fear is of the devil. If an angel of God appears to you, and he notices that you are afraid, the first thing he will say is “Fear not”- Genesis 21:17; Luke 1:30; 2:10-11; Acts 27:23-24.

If a dream cripples you with fear rather than boost your faith, it is from the devil. It is a negative dream, pray against it. If you don’t pray against it, it may happen as you dreamt it.

There are so many scriptures you can use to enforce God’s promises in your life.  A recommended scripture to cancel negative dreams is Psalm 33:10-11 which says, “The Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect. The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.”

Ask God to scatter, nullify and ruin every decision the enemy has made and spoil all their plans. Then pray that the plan and purpose of God for your life be established forever.

Whatever dreams the devil brings is to steal, kill or destroy. Our Lord Jesus Christ said, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10. Ask God to rebuke the activities of the killer, stealer and destroyer in your life and bring his counsel to pass in your life in Jesus name.

If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, you have given the devil a license to afflict you with negative dreams. Repent today!

Action Nugget: Pray against any negative dream in your life using the word of God.

Don’t Despise Godly Counsel

Text: Proverbs 11:4

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

We live in a world where you regularly and from time to time have to make decisions whether important or trivial. Sometimes you may even find yourself stuck at a crossroad, where you are compelled to make decisions in order to make progress. And for every decision you make there are rewards or consequences.

There is nothing you want to achieve that someone else has not achieved. And there is no situation you find yourself that someone else has not gone through and come out triumphantly, hence, the need to seek for godly counsel.

The word of God says, “Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety” Proverbs 11:4

There is a saying that a problem shared (with the right person) is half solved. When you find yourself in a situation where you cannot help yourself and you need to make a decision, it is time to seek godly counsel.

However, you must seek counsel from the right person. The right person is someone with a God-fearing heart who will not complicate your situation further. For example, someone whose marriage is in crises should not seek counsel from a divorcee or someone who doesn’t believe in the divine institution of marriage. He can seek counsel from someone who has had a stormy marriage but was able to find God’s wisdom and peace to stabilize the same.

A student struggling with his academics should not seek counsel from someone who does not believe in academic excellence. A business man in financial crises should seek godly counsel from someone who has passed through the same challenge and came out stronger.

There is a saying that a wise man learn from the mistakes of others while a foolish man learn from his own mistakes- that is if he alive to tell the story.

Don’t die in silence, seek godly counsel today!

Reflective Nugget: A word of godly counsel can bring a timely and permanent solution to your current situation.

Submit Yourself To Him

Text: James 4:7-8

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

There are so many battles we face in life; some are visible while the others are invisible. Some take place in the physical realm while others take place in the spiritual. Darkness contends with the Light; unrighteousness battles with righteousness; lies and heresy struggle with the truth of God’s word.

You lack the spiritual resources to fight because we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places- Ephesians 6:12.

These are forces whose full-time job is to see to it that you are cut off from the life of Christ in God. They are all out to ensure you live in disobedience so that you can receive the same judgement they have received.

They will sponsor some evil thoughts into your heart. How you will know that they are evil is that those thoughts will be bring doubts into your minds and cause you to question the truth of God’s word. That was the same strategy the serpent used against Eve in the Garden of Eden. The devil started by asking, “Did God really say…?” By asking this question, a seed of doubt was successfully sown in the heart of Eve- Genesis 3:1.

The plan of the Evil One is to make you lose faith in God so that you can detest anything godly. Ultimately his assignment is to make you lose heaven and land in the everlasting lake of fire originally created for the devil and his angels- Matthew 25:41

Whether you win or lose depends on whose side you are. But there is an obvious truth- you can’t win the devil if you fight alone. If you must win you need to submit yourself to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded- James 4:7-8. Victory will be yours in Jesus name.

Reflective Nugget: If you must win, submit yourself to Christ and victory will be yours in Jesus name.

Humility Prevents Humiliation

Date: Saturday, 21st September, 2024

Text: Daniel 4:28-37

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

If things are working for you now be humble and careful. There are some people who are far more qualified than you but because of time and chance, they have not been discovered. The person who wins a beauty contest is not necessarily the most beautiful; while the one who is the richest is not necessarily the wisest or the smartest.

It is possible to be wise and be poor; while it is very possible to rich and be a fool. That is why the word of God says, “The race is not to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong, Nor bread to the wise, Nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all.” Ecclesiates 9:11

This why everybody who should remain humble, no matter how important he thinks he is or how much he thinks he has achieved. If things are working for you, never think it is because you are so smart. Acknowledge the Controller of times and seasons who has worked things out in your favour. Fear and tremble before him in humility.

When king Nebuchadnezzar made the mistake of thinking he conquered the whole world by his own military power; God sent him to the compulsory school of humility by humiliating him with a seven-year long insanity.

However, he gained his throne back with greater glory and honour after humbling himself.. Humiliation is the result when God humbles a man. It is better to humble oneself than to allow God to do it.

Prophetic Nugget: Receive grace to always remain humble in Jesus name.

He Controls Times and Seasons (2)

Text: Genesis 41: 25-44

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

In order to promote a man God can change times and seasons in his favour. The ‘Remote Control’ of the whole world is in his hand and he can flip the channels at will to favour any of his children.

Joseph was a happy child of his father. He was well loved and given a coat of many colours. All was going well until he lost his connection to his family and became a slave in a foreign land.

He was a man that God promised a great future but things were going from good to bad and from bad to worse. Eventually he landed in prison yet he maintained his integrity and great relationship with God.

The word of God says, “But the Lord was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison. And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it. The keeper of the prison looked not to anything that was under his hand; because the Lord was with him, and that which he did, the Lord made it to prosper.” Genesis 39:21-23

Joseph tried to negotiate his way out of prison by asking one of the king pharaoh’s officials to help him get state pardon. But the man forgot him inside the prison until God himself stepped into the situation- Genesis 40:9-15; 23.

When the time came for Joseph to be set free and promoted, the Controller of times and seasons caused the king to have dreams that disturbed him. God made sure that he hid the interpretation of the dream from all the magicians.

The solution did not come until Joseph was brought into the picture and finally his elevation came.

No matter the condition you may be currently, just make sure you maintain your integrity with God and he will surely arise and have mercy on you in due time.

Prayer Nugget: Father, arise and have mercy on me; favour me this season in Jesus name.

He Controls Times and Seasons

Text: Daniel 2:21-23

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

One constant thing about life is change. Times and seasons change. In agriculture we understand that different crops are favoured by different seasons because the amount of rainfall, sunshine, humidity and other factors required for the optimal growth of different crops vary.

The fact that a crop is not yielding its fruit at a particular season does not make it barren or deficient. At its own time it would yield a good harvest. If you are operating under the management of Christ, there is nothing wrong with you. Just because things are not working now does not mean the fault is yours.

The Controller of times and seasons makes everything beautiful in his own time- Ecclesiastes 3:11a

Several years ago a brother was looking for job but got none. He was so brilliant and hardworking that he completed two undergraduate engineering programs concurrently, one a degree, the other a higher national diploma- both from very highly reputable federal institutions. He graduated with flying colours.

Despite these two great engineering qualifications he could not move forward. By the time he called me he was already frustrated and almost weeping on the phone asking me to pray for him. I did and also encouraged him to use his spare time to take some international exams, he did and before you know it he got admission into a foreign university in the USA with scholarships. He had since settled in America working and even married.

You are very close to your breakthrough. Just keep your faith alive and remain hardworking. The Controller of times and seasons will work out situations in your favour in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Father, please, arrange times and seasons to favour me in Jesus Name.

Sow Wisely (2)

Text: Proverbs 11:8

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Our Lord Jesus Christ gave the golden rule which says, Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them” Matthew 7:12. In other words, treat all like you want to be treated. But unfortunately many don’t follow this rule. If Haman had followed this rule he would not have died so cheaply. The gallows he built to destroy Mordecai was used to hang him- Esther 7:10.

The word of God says, “Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.”  Proverbs 26:27

When the enemies of Daniel were coming up with their evil plans little did they realize that it would boomerang on them.  The hungry lions refused to devour Daniel because God had sent his angels to shut their mouths.

Concerning Daniel the word of God came to pass which says, “The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.” Proverbs 11:8

I pray for you that every evil trap the enemy has set against you will boomerang on him in Jesus name.

The evil seed they sowed germinated within 24hours and they were used to replace the same Daniel they attempted to kill. The worst part of it was that their families too suffered the death penalty with them- Daniel 6. The wicked indeed fell by his own wickedness- Proverbs 11:5b.

Action Nugget: Sow with love!

Sow Wisely!

Text: Galatians 6:7-10

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Every action we put up is a seed. Being a seed it would obey the laws of harvest which says you reap whatever you sow. Apart from that the harvest is always more than the seed and thirdly, the harvest does not happen the same day you sow; that means the reward or consequence of every deed may not happen till a later date.

The word of God says, “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”Galatians 6:7-10 NIV

You sow to please the flesh when you invest your time pursuing things that boosts your sinful nature and suppresses your divine nature. For example when you feast your eyes on pornographic content, you are sowing to the flesh and you are going to reap the harvest of adultery, fornication, masturbation etc; thereby damning your soul.

Again, someone who invests his time on night clubbing and wild partying would reap the harvest of drunkenness and sexual immorality leading to everlasting destruction.

The one who invests his time feasting on the word of God, listening to soul edifying evangelistic messages, fellowshipping with the Spirit and other like-minded brethren is sowing to please the Holy Spirit and would reap the harvest of holiness, sanctification, Holy Spirit baptism and other supernatural spiritual encounters with God.

Action Nugget: Sow wisely!

The Ransom for the Upright

Date: Sunday, 15th September, 2024

Text: Proverbs 21:18

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

When king Herod arrested Apostle Peter with the intention to kill him the next day, the church prayed all night asking God to rescue him. God sent his angel to deliver the apostle. He was set free from the prison without opening the prison doors. All sixteen (16) soldiers guarding the prison were still there armed to the teeth.

The next day when Peter was to be executed, they found the prison cell empty. After king Herod had a thorough search made for him and did not find him, he cross-examined the soldiers and ordered that they be executed- Acts 12:1-24

In the same chapter King Herod himself was divinely set up for destruction. He was flattered by subjects who called his voice that of a god. He was idolized and he did not reject it.  Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died. But the word of God continued to spread and flourish.

Seventeen (17) people, namely,  the king and sixteen (16) soldiers  lost their lives in place of Peter’s. You why?

The word of God says, “The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.” Proverbs 21:18

When you live a holy life, God is committed to securing and protecting you. You will not die before your time.

Prayer Nugget: Father, I ask for the grace to continually live a life of obedience to your word in Jesus name.

The Assurance of Triumph

Date: Saturday, 14th September, 2024

Text: Psalm 34:1-22

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

The fact that believers live in a world where there is a predominance sinful men, we are not immune to trouble. God has not promised us a trouble-free life but he has promised to deliver us out of every trouble. An unbeliever does not have the same assurance of deliverance until he runs to Jesus for salvation.

Concerning the righteous, the psalmist said, “They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them.” Psalm 34: 5-7

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; not one of them is broken. Evil shall slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous shall be condemned.” Psalm 34:19-21

The Father will do everything possible to fight for and protect his own. They are the apple of his eyes- (Deuteronomy 32:10; Psalm 17:8). They are, “A chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people; a people called out of darkness into His marvelous light” 1 Peter 2:9.

He will never ignore their cries when they call. He ensures that the Sun does not smite them by day, nor the Moon by night. He dispatches his holy angels to lift them up in their hands so that they don’t strike their feet against a stone.

If you are not yet living a life of righteousness you have unknowingly given the devil a free licence to afflict you without any hope of deliverance. Be wise and make a U-turn today!

Prayer Nugget: Father, thank you for saving my soul and giving me the assurance of triumph in Jesus name.
