Come Under Divine Covering

Date: Tuesday, 3rd September, 2024

Text: Exodus 12:12-14

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Just as God has beautiful plans for your life, the devil also has his own ugly agenda. He moves about like a lion seeking those he may devour. This is why the word of God says you should always redeem the time because the days are evil- Ephesians 5:16.

As you wake up each day arrows fly around in the day and pestilence crawls in the night.  I pray for you that no evil shall befall you and no plague will come near your dwelling in Jesus name.

In today’s text the word of God says, “On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn of both people and animals, and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the Lord. The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.” Exodus 12:12-14

As many as stayed under the blood-marked houses, escaped the scourge of the angel of death but those who stayed without the blood were destroyed.

The blood of the animals typifies the Blood of Jesus. It is a blood of covenant for as many as have surrendered to the lordship of Christ. Even today when you are covered by this blood of exemption, evil arrows will pass over you.

If you are living in sin, you are outside the divine covering. Why not run under Divine Covering by surrendering to his lordship today?

Prophetic Nugget: You will not be a victim but a victor in Jesus name.

His Name Is Jealous

Date: Monday, 2nd September, 2024

Text: Exodus 34:14

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Jealousy and envy are not the same. You are jealous of what belongs to you. For example a husband may feel jealous when his wife gives the attention due to him to another man. Envy on the other hand is when someone is displeased with what someone else has or has achieved.

God is jealous for his own people because he loves them affectionately. He doesn’t want anything to come between him and his people. Anything else that will compete for his attention in your life is idolatry.

The Lord spoke to the Israelites saying, “Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me” Exodus 20:5

In Exodus 34 vs 14, the word of God says, “For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.”

He fights to defend his glory because he will not share it with another.

On a particular occasion king Herod, wearing his royal robes, sat on his throne and delivered a public address to the people. They shouted, “This is the voice of a god, not of a man.” Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died.Herod died in such a horrific way because he accepted the glory due to God- Acts 12:18-25.

Beware of sycophants that give you titles that befit the Almighty God alone. Don’t let them put you in trouble with your Maker whose name is Jealous.

Some people share testimonies in such an arrogant and boastful way that you think their testimonies were achieved by their own power.

When you achieve anything and you don’t give praise to God, it simply means that you indirectly affirm that it was achieved by your own wisdom and power. Nebuchadnezzar suffered from 7-year insanity for the same reason. After his recovery he gave praises to God but he had learnt his lessons the hard way- Daniel 4:25-35.

Reflective Nugget: It is dangerous to arrogate the glory that is due to God to yourself or another. Acknowledge and praise him always.

The Comforter (2)

Date: Saturday, 31st August, 2024

Text: 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

When he was about to depart physically from the Earth, Jesus Christ, the Comforter said, “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, which he may abide with you forever.”  John 14:16.

The Holy Spirit is other Comforter sent from the Father to guide you into all truth, to show you things to come and to teach you all you need to know in order to live a godly and fulfilling life.

His job is to strengthen you and help you and to uphold you with his righteous right hand. David said, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4

When you go astray, his rod and the staff are meant to correct and guide you back to the right path as you travel on the narrow way. It may be painful at the beginning but when you endure patiently under the chastening of the Lord, comfort is the result.

In today’s text, Apostle Paul wrote, “Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

When God comforts you in your trouble, he does so in order that you also may extend that comfort and be a source of comfort to others who are passing through difficult times. When you share your testimony, it brings comfort to others and strengthens their faith.

I pray that you will enjoy the comfort of the Holy Spirit all your days in Jesus name.

Prayer nugget: Comforter, I rely on you; please anoint me with the oil of your comfort all the days of my life in Jesus name.

The Comforter

Date: Friday, 30th August, 2024

Text: Matthew 11:28-30

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

If there is anything the world needs now, it is comfort. A lot of souls are hurting; many a heart is broken. The enemy’s full time job is to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10). And unfortunately he has succeeded in wrecking havoc in many lives.

A lot of people are going through things they cannot even tell someone else. They smile and laugh in the public but they weep in private. They look confident and well composed in the open but break down in secret.

The burdens many carry have become unbearable and they are already bending and cringing under the weight. They are groaning and struggling seeking for whom to help them.

The good news is that help is around the corner. The Comforter says, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30.

Joseph Scriven in his popular song wrote, “Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged, Take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful Who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

“Are we weak and heavy-laden, Cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge— Take it to the Lord in prayer; Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer; In His arms He’ll take and shield thee, Thou wilt find a solace there.”

Prophetic  Nugget: Receive the comfort of the Spirit of Christ in Jesus name.

He Is Faithful

Text: Hebrews 10:22-23

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

The word of God is full of promises. He gives promises in order to give an assurance or guarantee for your future. His promises are his covenant. Fortunately, God is a keeper of his promises- a covenant-keeping God.

However, the fulfilment of his promises is largely based on relationship -a mutual one. He is not just interested in being your God but also your partner and friend. Jesus said, “Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you”-John 15:15.

He knows your struggles, your limitations and weaknesses. Come to him as you are and open up. The more you spend quality time in his presence, the more he transforms you into his image. The fire of his presence will consume all things that do not bring glory to him in your life.

If you will keep your own part of the deal he is faithful and just to play his part. Therefore, since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, and make holiness perfect in the fear of God.

Let us draw near unto the Lord with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)-Hebrews 10:22-23.

Wait on him patiently, God will never fail.

Prayer Nugget- Father, thank you because you are reliable and dependable. By your grace I will not fail you in Jesus name.

You Are A Winner!

Date: Tuesday, 27th August, 2024

Text: John 16:33

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

From the moment you were about to be conceived in your mother’s womb you had been in serious competition with millions of other individuals that had the same intention of coming into the world like you. However, you won the hot race and here you are victorious!

Every child of God has the seed of victory in him. In his spiritual DNA there is the genetic code of winning. This means every true Christian is wired by the Holy Spirit to be an overcomer. “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” 1 John 5:4.

Therefore, dust yourself up, stop the self pity and lift your head up in triumph. Don’t wallow in self defeat if you are in Christ. Defeat is for those who have not personally surrendered their hearts to Christ. They have lost in this world and also in eternity. They have lost because Satan their Father is a loser.

He lost his place in Heaven with a third of the angels there. The holy angels fought him with the weapon of the Blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimonies- Revelation 12:11

If you are living in sin, you are living in defeat. The overcomers’ spiritual trademark is righteousness.

In today’s text our Lord Jesus says, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Because Jesus has overcome and you are in Christ, you are automatically a winner. Always affirm your victory and you will never know defeat anymore for the rest of your life.

Reflective Nugget: If you are living in sin, you are living in defeat. Why not repent and join the winning side today?

Text: John 15:1-7

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

The One who made you has a clear plan and purpose for your life. He has everything well laid out in his master plan for your life. No matter the circumstances that surrounded your birth or background always understand that you are not a mistake or just a dot on a paper.

In the midst of the billions souls in the universe, he knows you personally and has a peculiar blue print for your life. In response you need to personally know Him. He is the One who is called the Way. It is only the Way that can show you the way. The Lord Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life-John 14:6. Without him you can do nothing.

According to the text of today, the Lord Jesus said, “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” John 15:4-5

You can’t successfully travel on this side of eternity alone. You need to abide in Him and with Him. When you are confused and don’t know where to turn to, he alone would have your back only if you can stay connected.

Stay connected and be at the very centre of His will. He will sharpen your focus and grant your life a new meaning.

Prayer Nugget: Father, I receive the grace to stay connected and to be at the very centre of your will in Jesus name.

Text: Jeremiah 32:27

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

The overall Landlord of the Earth says, “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?” -Jeremiah 32:27. He has the sovereign right to bypass protocols and bless you. He can override panel or board decisions to achieve His aims and objectives in your life.

Potiphar, the captain of the Egyptian king’s guard bought a slave boy called Joseph. He was impressed by his intelligence and skills and put him in charge of his household. But the tide of events turned against the innocent boy and he was locked up in prison for two whole years.

All hopes seemed lost for the Jewish prisoner. It was as though he was going to rot in jail because he had no family, friend or lawyer to plead his case. He was forgotten and abandoned in the prison.

However, there is a God in Heaven, the Lawgiver, the King of kings and the Chief Judge of the whole Earth who stepped into Joseph’s case and overrode the decision of Potiphar. The case against Joseph was dismissed and he was discharged and acquitted. As if that was not enough, Pharaoh promoted the slave boy to become the Prime Minister and Second in Command to the king- Genesis 39-41.

I don’t know the desperate or difficult situation in which you have found yourself at this time. Maybe your situation looks hopeless and all your family and friends have abandoned you. Don’t worry; just love God like Joseph; your waiting time is almost over. The God of the whole Earth will remember and vindicate you in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Father, because nothing is too difficult for you, please step into my situation this season in Jesus name.

The Earth is the Lord’s (3)

Text: Isaiah 45:1-7

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Since the Earth belongs to the Lord he controls the hearts of everybody whether they realize it or not. The word of God says, “The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.” Proverbs 21:1. He can influence the hearts of important people to favour you.

Whether the nations like it or not God rules in the affairs of men. Some people think God’s activity is restricted to the church world alone. But the truth is that He controls the events of the globe including politics, sports, entertainment and anything you can think of.

He is the Judge: who puts down one, and exalts another- Psalm 75:6-7. Therefore, your promotion is in his hands, not in the hands of any mortal. Fear not! He will work things out in your favour in Jesus name.

Even in countries that regard themselves as secular, God is still the One ruling there. Cyrus was a pagan king who did not acknowledge God but He still used him to accomplish divine agenda. God referred to him as “my anointed”. In other words, Cyrus was specially chosen by God to accomplish a specific divine objective- Isaiah 45:1-7.

If you are an unbeliever and God used you to achieve a special divine purpose does it mean you are acceptable to him? No! Outside are the dogs- the sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie- Revelation 22:15

No matter how useful a dog is to you, you cannot name it as part of your children. A dog is still a dog. Why not repent and be converted today so that your transgressions can be blotted out and your sins forgiven?

God is willing to name you as one of His own children. Only Sons and Daughters will inherit God’s kingdom not dogs. Will you surrender to Him today?

Prayer Nugget: Father, because you are the Controller of times and seasons; let things work together for my good this season in Jesus name.

Text: 1 Corinthians 3:6

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

When we say everything you own does not belong to you, not even your life; somebody may disagree because he worked hard to earn them. But such a person has forgotten that some other people worked harder than him and got nothing out of it.

You can be a fantastic business strategist with highly impressive action plan but still experience colossal failure in the implementation due to reasons beyond your human control. Paul the Apostle wrote, “I planted, Apollos watered but God made it grow.” 1 Corinthians 3:6

The horse may be prepared for battle but safety and victory comes from the Lord- Proverbs 21:31. Therefore, if you come back from that battle victorious don’t give the credit to your military skills or battle experience.

The successful driver is the one who arrived safely and not necessarily the man with the driver’s licence.

Always give glory to God for anything you achieve; don’t boast and don’t mock those who are still struggling. Just remain humble and grateful to the One who showed you mercy.

A couple may be both medically certified okay and yet find it difficult to conceive. No matter how hard they try they would be fruitless except if God decides to show them mercy. That is why the word of God says, it is not of him that willeth nor of him that runneth but of God that showeth mercy- Romans 9:16.

If you are therefore a recipient of God’s mercy, why not extend the same to others?

Prophetic Nugget: May the invisible hand of God work in your favour this season in Jesus name.
