Light Is Meant to Be Seen

Text: Matthew 5:15

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

God never designed light to be hidden or confined. Scripture affirms, “No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light” (Luke 11:33). Light fulfills its purpose only when it is visible.

Faith may be personal, but its impact is meant to be public. Jesus teaches that light is positioned deliberately, not accidentally—“Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house” (Matthew 5:15). Our daily conduct speaks loudly, often louder than our words.

When we live openly for Christ- through integrity, love, and obedience—others encounter God’s goodness through us. Visible faith creates divine opportunities for truth to shine, hearts to be drawn, and God to be glorified.

Prayer Nugget: Father, help me to live boldly and visibly for you. Let my life shine in such a way that others may see your light and be drawn to you, in Jesus’ name.
