Text: Luke 19:1-6

Exhortation:
It is a beautiful thing to know the Lord personally. It is wonderful to have a one-on-one encounter with the Most High. Two cannot walk together except they be agreed- Amos 3:3. God’s ways are not our ways. The first step to provoke a personal encounter, then is to agree with the ways of God and set your heart to walk therein.
The way of God is to love righteousness and hate iniquity. His way is to value obedience above sacrifice. His way is value mercy above judgment and to exalt forgiveness above vengeance His way is the way of patience and endurance.
God will not force himself on anyone. You need to be personally eager to know him. When Zacchaeus heard that the Lord was passing by Jericho, he eagerly desired to meet the Lord but he knew it would be difficult because of the crowd and his little of stature. Therefore, he positioned himself for an encounter by climbing a sycamore tree because he knew the Lord was going to pass through that route.
And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, “Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for today I must abide at thy house.” Luke 19:1-6
Moses sought a deeper experience when he asked God saying, “Show me your glory”. Exodus 33:18. Paul wanted more of the Lord when he prayed saying, “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death” Philippians 3:10
It is one thing to hear testimonies of God’s glory and it is another thing to personally experience him firsthand.
