Text: 1Timothy 2:1-4
Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation:
The Holy Spirit through Apostle Paul wrote: “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
“ For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” 1Timothy 2:1-4
Prayer for all men includes all men starting from your neighbours to the community members; and then to your state, country and their leaders. There is nothing to gain when we curse the government and those in high authority; doing so will only make good things bad and bad things worse.
Pray for the leaders of your nation so that God will give them wisdom to formulate the right policies that would better the lot of the citizens and that they be endowed with wisdom to govern correctly. If they fail in their duties, the repercussion would trickle down to the whole citizenry, hence the wisdom in praying for our leaders.
Intercede for your national leaders that through them there would be security, safety, peace and tranquillity. Come against every spirit of war and bloodshed of innocent citizens. Progress can only be made in an atmosphere of peace.
Action Nugget: Remember to regularly pray for all people especially your neighbours, community, nation and all those in authority.
