Text: Psalm 16:4-11
Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation:
If you were given the opportunity to be in the presence of the king of your town, the Governor of your State or the President of your country, you would most likely be very happy and feel very honoured. A man who is skilful and diligent in his business will stand before kings and not mean men (ordinary people) – Proverbs 22:29.
When Joseph was invited to appear before the king Pharaoh, the Bible says he had his beards shaved, removed his prison clothes and put on a befitting apparel fit for the presence of the king. Genesis 41:14-16. He dared not enter the human king’s presence casually; he had to look his best.
By the time he finished speaking with the king, his level had changed forever. The former prisoner had become the second-in-command to the king. By just spending some minutes or probably a few hours in the presence of Pharoah, Joseph, the incarcerated slave had become the Prime Minister of Egypt- the greatest country of the then known world! As if that was not enough, he entered the king’s presence as a poor and obscure single, but he left his presence, a celebrated married noble. Genesis 41:37-46
When you make it a habit to spend quality time in the presence of the King of kings, a lot of transformations will take place in your life. Are you currently discouraged, depressed and sorrowful? Cheer up! In His presence there is fullness of joy. Psalm 16:11
Action Nugget: Make it a daily habit to spend quality time in God’s presence and your life will never remain the same again.
