Exhortation:
It is the will of God that you prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers- 3rd John 2.. Sickness doesn’t glorify God in any way. That was why during his earthly ministry Jesus, under the power and influence of the Holy Ghost went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil- Acts 10:38.
So we can see that sickness is an oppression of the devil. Sickness, infirmity or affliction is a potent weapon in the hands of the devil to wreak havoc in the lives of men. He knows that you need a sound health to be able to actualize your full potentials. He is aware that you need optimal health to be able to achieve the plans and purpose of God for your life, so he does everything possible to frustrate that.
Many promising destinies have been cut short simply because the individuals involved ignorantly decide to cooperate with the devil who obsesses or influences men to be careless about taking simple safety precautions about their health.
In fact, some have become addicted to taking harmful substances that are clearly dangerous to their health just like the madman of Gadara cutting himself with stones and crying day and night under the heavy possession of demons- Mark 5:1-15.
Christ has made provision to conquer that sickness in your life. The word of God says, “Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:4-5
