Exhortation:

Justice is the quality of being fair. It is also known as equity or fairness.

Our Lord Jesus Christ identified it as one of the three essentials apart from mercy and faithfulness- Matthew 23:23

In order to properly understand justice, we may need to look at the opposite, namely injustice.

A simple illustration of injustice is demonstrated in James 2:2-4 which says, “Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in. If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?

It is justice that makes God not leave the guilty unpunished; but punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation- Exodus 34:7b. Justice makes God not to spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment- 2 Peter 2:4.

It is this justice that made God not to have spared his own Son, but delivered him up for us all- Romans 8:32a

Justice is embedded in the followings Laws of Harvest which says the following:

Firstly, “What a man sows, he shall reap. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” Galatians 6:8

Secondly, “Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously”- 2 Corinthians 9:6

Justice is the nature of God. And if we profess to be God’s bonafide children, why should we be any different?

Prayer Nugget: Father, I ask that you give me the grace to always live a life of fairness and equity in Jesus name.
