Text: 2 Corinthians 13:14

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

The final prayer of Paul for the Corinthian church has become one of the most popular ways by which most Christian churches or assemblies end their prayer sessions. It goes thus, “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.” 2 Corinthians 13:14.

If you look closely into that benedictory prayer, you will see the trinity clearly represented therein. Let’s break it down: “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ (God the Son); the love of God (the Father) and the communion of the Holy Ghost (God the Holy Spirit) be with you all.” Wow! What an invocation of divine blessings! That is one of the highest packages of blessing any man can get.

Most of us just say the prayer casually without the consciousness of the wonderful blessings in it. From now on let us learn to say the prayers in a heartfelt, intentional and prophetic way and we will activate the blessings loaded therein.

The Love of God mentioned in the benediction was the third essential we identified yesterday. One evidence that a man loves God is obedience to His word.Christ said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter (the Holy Spirit), that he may abide with you forever.” John 14:15-16

A life of obedience attracts the presence and indwelling of the Holy Spirit into the life of a man.

When your heart is full of God’s love, it spills to your neighbour. Forgiveness becomes easy and there is no room for malice or bitterness. The results are answered prayers, unity and progress.

Prayer Nugget: Father, I ask for a yielded heart that readily obeys your word and the continuous indwelling of the Holy Spirit in Jesus name.
