Text: 1 Timothy 12-14
Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation:
All have sinned and come short of the glory of God – Romans 3:23. We were all objects of God’s wrath because of our natural fallen nature but thank God for Jesus Christ who came to our rescue. When the Lord began his public ministry on Earth, the first message he preached was, “Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17
Repentance occurs when one reviews one’s actions and feels contrite or regret for past wrongs, which is accompanied by commitment to and actual actions that show and prove a change for the better.
A very classic example of a truly repentant person was Paul, the Apostle. He was an injurious terrorist who delighted in persecuting the church of God. But when he met with Jesus Christ on his way to Damascus, he realized his error and made a u-turn,
He said, “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.” 1Timothy 12-14
The former persecutor became the hardest working apostle with exponential anointing.
Don’t be deceived, you cannot live in sin and say the grace of God should abound. If you are genuinely repentant, there should be evidence of a new life and evidence that you have said, “Bye Bye” to worldliness and your former ways of life.
God is still waiting for you, O sinner. Repent today, because tomorrow may be too late.
Action Nugget: Repent; for the kingdom of Heaven is near.
