Text: 2 Corinthians 11:13-15.
Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation:
There was a particular day that Paul and his companions were going to the place of prayer; they were met by a young servant woman who had an evil spirit that enabled her to predict the future. She earned a lot of money for her owners by telling fortunes.
She followed Paul and his team, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God! They announce to you how you can be saved!” She did this for many days, until Paul became so upset that he turned around and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I order you to come out of her!” The spirit went out of her that very moment.
When her owners realized that their chance of making money was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them to the authorities in the public square- Acts 16:16-19.
The lady was ‘prophesying’ using a spirit of the devil. There are many of such ‘prophets’ in many churches today. Surprising such churches are packed full of people who want someone to predict their future for them.
The fact that someone is able to describe the nature of your problems without you telling him does not make him a true prophet. And if he is not a true prophet, even if he sees and accurately describes your problems he cannot give you a lasting solution.
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works-2 Corinthians 11:13-15.
Satan cannot solve the problem he created in your life. He is a deceiver. His so called blessings come with sorrow. The word of God says, “The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it- Proverbs 10:22.
Reflective Nugget: Don’t be deceived into being manipulated into the crafty hands of the false prophets.
