Mercy’s Conditions

Date: Thursday, 23rd May, 2024

Text: Proverbs 28:13

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

God is plenteous in mercy. The Psalmist says, “As a father has compassion on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed,
he remembers that we are dust.” Psalm 103:13-14. Again he says, Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord; Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you.” Psalm 1301-4

However, mercy has conditions. The word of God says, “He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.” Proverbs 28:13. A sinner that acknowledges his sin and repents from them will attract God’s attention.

Even though the Bible says the prayer of a sinner is an abomination to God (Proverbs 28:9), one prayer of a sinner that God cannot ignore is a genuine cry for mercy from a repentant heart.

The sacrifice of God is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart God, will not despise. Psalm 51:17.

When a sinner genuinely repents one sure sign you will observe is that he will forsake that sin and never return to it again. Such a person will easily obtain mercy from God.

This season may you be a recipient of God’s mercy in Jesus name.

Action Nugget: Do not try to cover up your sins, but rather confess, renounce and forsake  them .

Why the Opposition?

Date: Wednesday, 22nd May, 2024

Text: Psalm 34:19-21

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Bright lamps have the tendency to attract flying insects like moths, flies, mosquitoes, beetles etc; occasionally even colliding with light bulbs head on; in fact the brighter the lamp, the more the flies it would attract.

Similarly, the more the glory you carry, the more the demonic flies you will attract. By demonic flies, we mean the satanic opposition you will attract to attempt to stop you. The greater the glory, the stronger the opposition you would attract from the kingdom of darkness.

Moses was not an ordinary child; he had a glorious mission right from birth. He was destined to deliver Israel from a 400 year long bondage. The devil knew ahead and so he tried to destroy Moses right from infancy. After the death of Joseph, a pharaoh emerged who did not acknowledge Joseph and his contributions to Egyptian national development.

This particular Pharoah became envious of the prosperity of Israel and gave a destructive decree to Nurses and Midwives that all male children born to Israelites should be killed right from the points of delivery. Moses was born at this dangerous time. But God miraculously saved his life- Exodus 1: 1-22; 2:1-10.

A similar scenario played out when the Lord Jesus Christ was born. King Herod became envious when he heard from the three wise men (Magi) that Christ was born as a king. He felt threatened insecure and furious; he gave a harsh decree to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi. His intention was to eliminate Christ before his glory would manifest. But once again God outsmarted him and Jesus survived- Matthew 2:1-18.

The devil doesn’t waste his time with something that has no value. If you are experiencing very strong opposition; it is not a sign that God has abandoned you but rather a sign that you carry a glorious destiny.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; not one of them is broken. Evil shall slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous shall be condemned- Psalm 34:19-21

Prayer Nugget:  Father, I put my hope in you; please deliver me from every affliction of the enemy in Jesus name.

Terms and Conditions Apply

Text: Deuteronomy 28:1-2

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

In the physical realm there are many scientific laws and theories. These are universal principles that work under specified conditions. If those conditions are not fulfilled the laws may fail to work.

For example there is a physical law that states that the extension or compression of a spring is directly proportional to the applied force as long as the limit of elasticity is not exceeded. Once the limit of elasticity is exceeded the law fails to work.

The word of God cannot fail, it is man that fail to fulfill the conditions necessary.  Today’s text says, “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God” Deuteronomy 28:1-2

God is no respecter of persons but in every nation he that fears him, and works righteousness, is accepted by him- Acts 10:34-35 .What he has done for others he will do for you. He is faithful to his word. He constantly watches over his word to bring it to pass.

His word says, “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house,
And try Me now in this, Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.

“And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” Says the Lord of hosts;
“And all nations will call you blessed, For you will be a delightful land,” Says the Lord of hosts”- Malachi 3:10-12.

If there are any issues that make it appear as if the word of God isn’t working, look inwards and check your obedience level. Ensure that you have fulfilled your own part of the deal.

His Word is his covenant and covenants have terms and conditions. He is a covenant keeping God. Just make sure you do your own part of the deal and watch God rain his avalanche of blessings on you.

Prayer Nugget: Father, please empower me with supernatural grace to always carefully fulfill the terms and conditions of your covenant in Jesus name.

God Will Carry You

Text: Isaiah 46:4

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Right from conception the favour of God has selected you. From among the millions of sperm cells competing for the same spot, you won! And that is neither by your power nor by your making. God’s hand guided you; his mercy and grace chose you. You must be indeed special!

In today’s text, God said, “Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” Isaiah 46:4

To carry you means to take care of you. All you need for life and godliness will be supplied by him . He has assured you of his power to rescue, save and deliver from every trouble or trouble maker.

He that began the work is able and faithful to see you through to the very end. That is why Christ is called the Alpha and Omega; the Beginning and the Ending. He is the one who is and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty- Revelation 1:8. This implies that God knows your present, past and also holds your future.

So many folks are held in bondage by the fear of death. But if you believe in salvation through the death and resurrection of Christ, the word of God promises you saying, “With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.” Psalm 91:16. This means, as long as you are under the management and lordship of the Lord Jesus Christ, you should rest that you will not die before your time.

Till your old age the Lord will carry you; He will command His angels in regard to you,
To protect and defend and guard you in all your ways of obedience and service. They will lift you up in their hands, So that you do not strike your foot against a stone.he will instruct  he will go ahead of you.

In Jesus name you will finish strong.

Prayer Nugget: Father, please, in your mercy fulfill your word in my life; carry me , sustain me and rescue me till the very end in Jesus name.

He Knows You

Date: Thursday, 16th May, 2024

Text: Psalm 139:13-16

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Each of us is unique in his own way. There are no two people in the world that look exactly the same in everything. That means you are special. And that is why it is wrong for you to compare yourself with others. Be thankful to God for who you are; for what you have and what you don’t have.

More than you know yourself God knows you. He has a purpose for your life and so you are purpose-built. You will discover that you lack certain attributes that are found in others. You lack those attributes because your purpose in life may not require them. And if you feel anything is wrong with you or mussing in your life, it is only right for you to go back to your Manufacturer. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you”- Matthew 7:7.

David said to God, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be-Psalm 139:13-16.

He knows what will work for you and what will not. He has the password of your life; only him has the formula of success that will work for you. If another person uses the same formula, it may not work. Each person has to receive his own from God. The fact that someone you know is successful in a business venture does not mean you should go into the same business.

He told Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5

Many of us struggle in life because we have not realized the above truths. You need to seek the Lord Jesus Christ who knows you more than you know yourself. Surrender to his management and watch him guide you to the uttermost.

Prayer Nugget: Lord Jesus I acknowledge that you know me more than I know myself; please, guide me to the very end.

Text: Hebrews 4:14-16

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Apart from the fullness of joy and pleasures at his right hand, there are many other virtues that flow from God’s presence. Fire also goes before him and consumes his enemies roundabout- Psalm 97:3

He covers himself with light as with a garment (Psalm 104:2a); therefore, anyone who is troubled by the powers of darkness can find deliverance in his presence.

The word of God says, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16

Mercy makes him to forgive all our sins, heal all our diseases, redeems our lives from the pit of Hell and crowns us with love and compassion;he satisfies our desires with good things so that our youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Psalm 103:3-5

Mercy flows abundantly from his presence. May you be a beneficiary of God’s mercy in Jesus name.

The throne of God is named the Throne of Grace. His Grace offers salvation to all people, teaching us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age- Titus 2:11-12.

That same grace brings favour that singles a man out from the crowd for special divine assistance. This season, may you be a candidate of God’s grace.

Prayer Nugget: Father, please, let me be a beneficiary of your mercy and grace in Jesus name.

Text: Exodus 33:14-16

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Moses the leader of Israel knew the importance of God’s presence and that is why he insisted that the Lord should go with them in all their travels. He told God saying, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?” Exodus 33:15, 16

The difference between those who are in darkness and those who live in the light of His word is the presence of God.

The Lord replied Moses saying, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:14. His presence brought terror on the towns all around them so that no enemy pursued them and those that did were overcome.

Personally, Moses the man of God lived up to the age of 120 and the word says, “His eye was not dim, nor his natural force (physical strength) abated.- Deuteronomy 34:7. What a special grace!

David said, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4. When God’s presence is with you, you have nothing to fear. His rod of discipline and staff of guidance will be there to lead you all the way.

Prayer Nugget: Father, have mercy on me and let your presence always be with me in Jesus name.

Text: Acts 5:1-11

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

I heard a song many years ago which said, “In your presence anything goes”; suggesting that worshippers are at liberty to behave anyhow in God’s presence. But that cannot be correct. Even before human kings, governors and presidents you cannot behave anyhow. If you can comport yourself in the presence of a human leader whose breath is in his mouth, how much more the King of kings and the Lord of lords?

In Malachi 1:6, God said, “A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? And if I be a master, where is my fear? Saith the Lord of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, wherein have we despised thy name? Malachi 1:6

Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron were priests ; but they offered strange (unauthorized) fire before the Lord. God found their sacrifice offensive and consumed the two men with fire. When Aaron, their father asked Moses why the Lord did such a tragic thing, Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord spoke of when he said: “‘Among those who approach me
I will be proved holy; in the sight of all the people I will be honored.’” Leviticus 10:3

A similar thing happened to another family in Acts 5. A man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira also sold a piece of property. With his wife’s full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles’ feet. When Apostle Peter asked him about the transaction amount, he lied in God’s presence and died instantly.

Three hours later, not knowing what had happened, his wife arrived at the church and she was asked about the same transaction amount and in conspiracy with her husband, she lied in God’s presence and also fell down and died- Acts 5:1-11.

God is good and loving but don’t forget that He is also the Consuming Fire. So we must approach His presence with humility, reverence and honour that befits the King of kings.

Action Nugget: Always give honour to the King of kings and his glory will rub on you.

Text: Luke 1:5-20

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

In the presence of God natural laws are suspended and the supernatural holds sway. When that is the case miracles happen; signs and wonders become the order of the day. In His presence the impossible becomes possible and pronouncements become decrees that are confirmed immediately.

The parents of the greatest man born of a woman in the Old Testament had serious and prolonged delay in conceiving him. Zechariah and his wife, Elizabeth both lived good lives in God’s sight and obeyed fully all the Lord’s laws and commands. They had no children because Elizabeth could not have any, and she and Zechariah were both very old.

When it was eventually time for God to take away their reproach, He sent the angel Gabriel to declare the good news of the birth of John, the Baptist. But Zechariah doubted and he asked for signs to prove that the angel was saying the truth.

Zechariah said to the angel, “How shall I know if this is so? I am an old man, and my wife is old also.” “I am Gabriel,” the angel answered. “I stand in the presence of God, who sent me to speak to you and tell you this good news.” Luke 1:5-20

The only assurance the angel had was the fact that he was ministering in God’s presence. Therefore his words became decrees. Elizabeth conceived according to the word of the angel and, in due time, the baby John (meaning Favour) was born.

Spend quality time in God’s presence and watch Him do the supernatural in your life and convert your pronouncements to decrees.

Prayer Nugget: Father, please, make me a lover of your presence in Jesus name.

Text: Isaiah 45:2-3

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Problems or obstacles on your way stand as mountains or hills trying to prevent you from entering your Promised Land. But the presence of God will take care of them.

Demons tremble at His presence; at the name of Jesus every knee bows, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and every tongue confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father- Philippians 2:9-11.

When the Lord descended on Mount Sinai to give the Ten Commandments, the mountain quaked and smoked. The word of God says, The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.” Nahum 1:5

One of the things that happen in God’s presence is that everything presents itself in your life like a mountain or hill must relocate by fire.

The Lord has promised to go before you and level the mountains; to break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. His desire is to give you hidden treasures, and riches stored in secret places- Isaiah 45:2-3

Your mountains will skip away like rams, and your little hills like lambs at God’s presence in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Who art thou O mountain? At the presence of the Lord, I turn you into a plain ground in Jesus name.
