Examine Yourself

Date: Sunday, 31st December, 2023

Text: James 1:5-7

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

We are about to begin another time and season. It is therefore crucial for every one of us to reflect on the old year and truly appraise ourselves. There are three people you cannot deceive, namely God, the devil and yourself. It is possible to deceive any other person. Look at the areas you have succeeded and the areas you have failed.

How deep has your walk with God been this year? How consistent has your prayer life been from January till now? How committed have you been to personal study of God’s word? How many souls have you won for God this year? How obedient have you been in the area of financing God’s work (your tithes, first fruits, offerings, almsgiving etc)?

How much sacrifices have you made for the advancement of the kingdom of God in 2023? How much have you been committed and devoted to the things of God? How selfless have you been? How much have you been a blessing to others? How much smiles have you put in the faces of others?

In your secular endeavour, how much of your goals for the out-going year have you realized? Over your spouse and children how far have you moved this year 2023?

You cannot be doing things the same way and expect a different result. Where you have struggled or failed, pray and ask God for wisdom to re-strategize in the New Year. The word of God says, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.” James 1:5-7

In 2024, your success shall be great in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Father, in your infinite mercy, please, grant me wisdom to succeed greatly in the New Year 2024 in Jesus name.

Pray Your Way Into 2024 (2)

Text: Isaiah 1:18-19; 3:10-11

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

We may not know the future but we know the God who owns the future. Through the lens of His Word, we can see into the 2024. The coming year may be new to us but it is not new to God who is the Beginning and the Ending; the Alpha and Omega; and the First and the Last. He is the Controller of times and seasons. Therefore, we have no reason to be anxious or worried because our times are in his hands.

Isaiah 3:10-11, says, “Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.”

Also, the word of God says, “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.” Isaiah 1:18-20.

Everybody, irrespective of his spiritual status, has the opportunity to get the best of God in the New Year. The Sinner, if he will be willing to repent and obey God, will eat the good of the land. The righteous, if he will not be tired of obeying and doing the will of God, will see God’s glory in a new dimension.

God’s plan for you in the New Year is big and glorious. You only need to cooperate with Him every step of the way and you will enjoy all-round divine favour in 2024. Throughout the New Year, the sound of salvation, celebration, joy and victory will be heard in our homes in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Father, please, help us to walk with you steadfastly in the New Year in Jesus name.

Pray Your Way Into 2024

Date: Friday, 29th December, 2023

Text: Psalm 33:10-11

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

No two years are the same. So the strategy you used this year may not work in 2024. You need to go to God the One who knows the end from the beginning. Humble yourself before Him and ask Him to show you the unique formula that unlocks His blessings of the New Year. Receive a specific word to run with, in the New Year.

Through fellowship with God, prayers and fasting you can also set the right spiritual atmosphere for the Year 2024. Many are pregnant with ideas and plans for the New Year but just like biological pregnancies; it takes physical and spiritual care to carry it to full term and to deliver it safely. I pray for you that you will neither experience miscarriages nor still birth of your 2024 blessings in Jesus name.

First of all, you need to be in tune with God. You cannot continue in sin as say the grace of God should abound. God forbid! Repent from every known sin and get your heart right with God. Surrender your totality to Jesus Christ. He is the One who has the keys or Password of the New Year.

Secondly, ensure that your agenda for 2024 agree with God’s plans, otherwise, don’t expect the Almighty to sponsor a project he did not initiate.

Next carry out “Operation Ps33:10-11”. What does this code mean? The Word of God will help us decode. The Psalmist said, The Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect. The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.” Psalm 33:10-11

In other words, prayerfully ask God to thwart every agenda of the wicked one and neutralize their weapons. Command that the purpose and plans of God for your life in 2024 comes to fruition and speedy fulfilment in Jesus name.

Are there promises God has made to you but which He has not fulfilled? It is time to ask Him to fulfil it.

2024 shall be a greater Year for you and your household in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Father, please, frustrate the purpose of the enemy; keep him from carrying out his plans. But let your divine plan endure forever; and your purpose last eternally in my life in Jesus name.

Be Sober and Vigilant

Date: Thursday, 28th December, 2023

Text: 1 Peter 5:8

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

A sober person is sensitive and alert to the dangers of the world, the flesh, and the Devil, and he is not easily distracted by the issues that can get him off track.

The term sober literally means “free from intoxicating influences.” To be sober means to not allow ourselves to be influenced by anything that leads us away from God’s truth and sound judgment.

To be vigilant means “to keep careful watch for possible danger or difficulties.” Spiritual vigilance involves watchfulness and prayerfulness. Jesus said, “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41

A vigilant person actively pays attention to what is seeking for his attention and what affects his heart and mind. We must keep a clear mind as we vigilantly keep watch over our lives and the world around us.

King Xerxes, while in high spirits (from alcoholic wine) took a careless step that led to the failure of his marriage- Esther 1.

The Word of God says, “Be sober be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8

Receive grace to be sober and vigilant in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Father, I ask for the spirit of sobriety and vigilance in Jesus name.

Merry To His Glory

Date: Wednesday, 27th December, 2023

Text:  Proverbs 17:22

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Merry making is the act of celebrating and having an enjoyable time. Proverbs 17:22 says, “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.” It is very good to have a good time to celebrate as individuals, families, friends, communities, and even as a nation.

However, celebration must not be about ourselves but about the One who made it possible for us to celebrate. God is a jealous God and he said, “I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.” Isaiah 42:8. Celebrate the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Give him the praise that is due him.

Don’t have the mindset of Nebuchadnezzar who thought all his achievements were possible by his power. He learnt his lessons in a hard way- Daniel 4.

Celebrations that don’t recognize or glorify God may turn out bloody or deadly. If you don’t believe ask Herod the king whose birthday celebration led to the death of John the Baptist- Matthew 14:1-12. Or ask Pharaoh whose birthday led to the death of one of his chiefs – Genesis 40:20-23. Amnon, the son of David lost his life during merrymaking in the house of Absalom, his half brother-2 Samuel 13:22-29.

During this festive season, let us put God first; prioritize worship. Bless his holy name. Acknowledge Him as the One who made all you have achieved possible. Let God feel your gratitude and that He alone deserves your worship.

Your joy will not turn to sorrow in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Father, you will be the centre of my merry and celebrations in Jesus nam

Last Minute Miracle

Date: Tuesday, 26th December, 2023

Text:  John 2:1-10

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

God often reserves the best till the last. The glory of the latter house shall surpass the former, says the Word of God in Haggai 2:9. It is not over until you win. The remaining days of this year will bring forth the best for you in Jesus name.

According to today’s text, there was a wedding in the town of Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine had gone out, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They are out of wine.” Jesus then gave instructions saying, “Now draw some water out and take it to the man in charge of the feast.”

They took him the water, which now had turned into wine, and he tasted it. He did not know where this wine had come from, so he called the bridegroom and said to him, “Everyone else serves the best wine first, and after the guests have drunk a lot, he serves the ordinary wine. But you have kept the best wine until now!” John 2:1-10

The Lord’s first ever sign and wonder was a last minute miracle. In the remaining days of this year 2023, the Lord will perform a last minute miracle in your life that will turn things around in your favour in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Father, in your infinite mercy, please, wrought mighty last minute miracles in my life and family in Jesus name.

Wise Men Worship Jesus

Date: Monday, 25th December, 2023

Text: Matthew 2:7-11

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Certain three men saw a unique star from the East. This star was very different from common stars. Unknown to them, they had seen the Bright Morning Star (Revelation 22:16). Stars don’t shine in the day. But this particular star is so bright that it can still be visible even in the morning. The Word of God calls Him the Sun of Righteousness (Malachi 4:2).

When these astrologers saw the star, they identified him to be the ‘King of the Jews” and they traveled for about two years to find and worship him. They came with significant and expensive gifts all the way, just to sacrifice to the new born king.

The Word of God says, “And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.” Matthew 2:7.

The gifts were symbolically prophetic in that they indicated the personality, ministry and mission of Christ on Earth.

The gold identifies the royalty of Christ; they correctly blessed him as King of kings. The frankincense indicates the priestly nature of Christ. As our High Priest, he prayed, taught and preached the word of God from place to place; healing the sick, raising the dead and performing special miracles.

The third gift of Myrrh was odd because it is not a common gift for new born children. Myrrh contains chemicals that might reduce pain and kill bacteria. It’s used in the perfume and embalming industry. It was presented also at the end of his earthly life. (Mark 15:23; John 19:39)

The gift of Myrrh prophetically indicated the circumstances that would surround the departure (death) of the new born king.

As a Bible scholar rightly pointed out, “Their gifts told the story of how God himself came down from Heaven as our King (gold) to fulfill his priestly duties (frankincense) and eventually died for our sins (myrrh)”. What a strong message from the Three Wise Men!

Merry Christmas!

Reflective Nugget: When the Wise Men saw the unique star of Jesus Christ, they responded. What are you doing to respond to the love of Jesus Christ today?

A Strong Tower

Date: Sunday, 24th December, 2023

Text: Proverbs 18:10

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

A tower is a tall, narrow building or structure typically higher than its diameter either free-standing or forming part of a building such as a church or castle. Towers are known for their architecture, height, and beauty. A strong tower was a central place in ancient cities where people could run to when facing danger and then find safety and protection.

Even in modern times, dangers loom all over the world; insecurity plagues many communities and nations. There are occurrences of armed robberies, kidnappings, terrorism, ritual and serial killings; making fear and dismay to grip many a heart. But the Word of God says, “The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous runs into it and is safe.” Proverbs 18:10.

Have you been beaten by the rainy storms or smitten by the sun of life? Yield your heart completely to Jesus Christ. He is our rock, our refuge, our fortress, our shepherd, our king, and our redeemer. The psalmist said, “I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: So shall I be saved from mine enemies.” Psalm 18:3

Since His name is worthy to be praised, why not praise his holy name? Worship him in the beauty of his majesty and your life will not remain the same again.

Prayer Nugget: Lord Jesus, I worship your holy name this day. Father, I magnify your name above every situation challenging my commitment and devotion

Crown Him Your Lord

Date: Wednesday, 20th December, 2023

Text: Luke 19: 12,14,15

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

The Lord Jesus Christ told a parable concerning God’s kingdom. He said: “A man of noble birth went to a distant country to have himself appointed king and then to return.“But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, ‘We don’t want this man to be our king.’ “He was made king, however, and returned home”. Luke 19:12, 14, 15.

Whether the enemy liked it or not the king was crowned. There are several key takeaways we can get from the above story.

Firstly, God is not a Democrat. He is a Sovereign King, who does as He pleases. He does not need a man’s vote or opinion to do what He will do. As far as God’s kingdom is concerned the will of the multitudes that have chosen not to do God’s will does not stop divine agenda.

Man can come up with many ungodly or antichrist laws like same-sex marriage, pro-abortion etc ; it does not change the purpose of God. The Word of God says, “There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand.” Proverbs 19:21

Whether the world likes it or not Christ is coming back again. He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all peoples on earth will mourn because of him- Revelation 1:7.

Why not examine yourself before he judges you? Why not surrender to the King of kings and the Lord of Lords? Do so today for tomorrow may be too late.

Prayer Nugget: Father, I repent from every act of rebellion against your Son Jesus Christ, and surrender my all to Him from today. Help me never to be found wanting as from now on in Jesus name.

Forgiveness (6)

Date: Sunday, 17th December, 2023

Text: Proverbs 19:11

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

One of the antidotes of unforgiveness is to give allowances for offenses. Never expect too much from people. Understand that offenses will always come and forgive people in advance. Human beings will be humans with their weaknesses and strengths. When you rate people too highly and they cannot live up to your high expectations, you get offended.

In Jerusalem at the Passover Festival, many people saw the signs Jesus was performing and believed in his name. But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people. He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person- John 2:23-25.

A brother once approached another brother in the same church for financial loan, the money was much but the lender’s only money was the rent he was saving up before the due date. The borrower promised Heaven and Earth that he would pay up before the due date. So the innocent brother released the money.

The rent was almost due and the time promised by the borrower came but he was not forth coming. All efforts to get him to pay proved abortive until the church leadership was involved.

Someone once came to me and was seriously pleading for a little financial loan. Though he requested for a loan, in my mind, I was not expecting the payment back. So eventually when he did not pay, I did not ask him and I did not feel offended. He was already forgiven before he even offended; for peace to reign.

A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense- Proverbs 19:11. Whoever would foster love covers over an offense, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends- Proverbs 17:9.

Prophetic Nugget: Receive wisdom and grace to overlook offenses in Jesus name.
