Text: – 1 Samuel 1:1–20

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Just as we all have needs, God’s kingdom on Earth also has needs.

There was a time the priesthood in Israel was corrupted by the two priests, both of them the sons of Eli, Hophni And Phinehas who were violent men. They had abused their power as priests over Israel to serve their selfish appetites. They demanded the best cuts of meat from the sacrifices of the people before they were offered to the Lord (1 Samuel 2:12–17), and they had sex with the women serving outside of the tent of meeting (1 Samuel 2:22).

Their sins were great in the sight of the Most High and God was seriously in need of a replacement.

Hannah had been going to Shiloh for many years in a desperate desire for a child because she was barren. She saw the need in the priesthood and made up her mind to meet that need. She changed her prayer point.

Instead of just praying that “Father, give me a child and remove my reproach”- a selfish personal reason, she prayed a selfless prayer saying, ““Lord Almighty, if you will only look on your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the Lord for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head.” 1 Samuel 1:11

She met God’s need and God met her need in a miraculous and a symbiotic manner.

If your prayer has not been answered, why not consider modifying it in such a way that the answer to your prayer will meet God’s needs?

Prayer Nugget: Father, please use me to meet your kingdom needs in Jesus name.
