Exhortation:
Yesterday, we defined Arrow Prayers as short, quick prayers offered to connect to God. It can be in the form of praises. For example, when you hear good news and you scream, “Thank you Jesus” or you just succeeded in getting a long awaited breakthrough and you shout, “Glory be to God.”
At other times it could be a cry for a divine help like the case of Peter. He had done the impossible by walking on water. But the human weakness of fear and doubt soon took its toll on him and when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, ‘Lord, save me’. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him- Matthew 14:29-31.
The prayer of a sinner is an abomination to God- Proverbs 28:9. Therefore, it is important to be in a right relationship with God before shooting prayer arrows to him in Heaven, otherwise, the arrows will bounce back to the sender. The prayer arrow a sinner can successfully shoot to the God of Heaven is a cry for mercy and forgiveness, if it is coming from a genuinely repentant heart- Psalm 51:17.
Arrow prayers are a delight to God if it is coming from a holy vessel, an upright heart and from someone with a deep and regular personal fellowship with Him- Proverbs 15:8. Arrow prayers should, therefore, not be a substitute for a life of intense worship and prayers, alone with the Lord.
Always take time to offer quality praise to God, tarry in his presence as a habit; worship him intensely without reservation in the beauty of his holiness. Then can the shooting of your emergency prayer arrows be effective during the hustle and bustle of life.
Key Nugget: Arrow prayers are a delight to God if it is coming from a holy vessel, an upright heart and from someone with a deep and regular personal fellowship with Him.
