Retracing Your Steps

Date: Saturday, 23rd August, 2025

Text: Isaiah 11:1-2

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

At times in life, we make decisions that take us far from God’s path- decisions we later recognize as grave errors. It may leave us feeling guilty, lost, or disqualified. But the Spirit of Counsel is God’s gracious gift to guide us back.

He convicts, not condemns (John 16:8): showing us where we missed it, but always pointing to the way home. He brings clarity in confusion, helping us know the right next steps to take. He strengthens us to admit wrong, retrace our steps, and humbly start again. He restores purpose, reminding us that failure is not final when surrendered to God.

Just as the prodigal son was counseled in his heart to “arise and go to my father” (Luke 15:18), so does the Spirit of Counsel whisper to us: “This is the way, walk in it” (Isaiah 30:21).

That error you have made is not the end of your road. Allow the Spirit of Counsel to guide you back to the presence of God. He is waiting to give you another chance. David erred gravely by going into the sin of adultery and even murder but when he realized his error, he did not commit suicide like Judas Iscariot did but rather, wept his way back to salvation.2 Samuel 11-12; Psalm 51.

The Spirit of Counsel is not just for making new decisions—it is also the gentle voice that leads us back when we’ve strayed.

Prayer Nuggets: Heavenly Father, thank You for the Spirit of Counsel. In every place I have erred, let Your Spirit guide me back to Your will in Jesus name.

The Spirit of Counsel

Date: Friday, 22nd August, 2025

Text: Isaiah 11:1-2

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Life is full of choices. Everyday we make choices, whether consciously or unconsciously. You are where you are today by the choices you made yesterday. Where you will be tomorrow will be determined by the choices you make today. Some decisions are poor and some are great.

Counsel means guidance, advice, direction, or strategy needed to follow as we make plans. The word of God says, “Without counsel, plans go awry, but in the multitude of counselors they are established”- Proverbs 15:22. Also, “Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety”- Proverbs 11:14.

The Spirit of Counsel is one of the Seven Spirits of God mentioned in Isaiah 11:2: “And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.”

This Spirit of counsel divinely assists us to make wise daily choices, whether small, like what clothes to wear, or great, like ministry, career or marital decisions. The word of God says, “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, this is the way, walk in it…” Isaiah 30:21. He helps us discern God’s will, avoid mistakes, and walk in the right path.

A lot of folks have made grave errors and made a shipwreck of their lives because they walked on their own understanding.

Surrender your heart to the Lord Jesus and allow the Spirit of Counsel to guide you.

Prophetic Nugget: Receive the supernatural guidance of the spirit of counsel as from today in Jesus name.

Poured Out Like a Drink

Date: Wednesday, 20th August, 2025

Text:  2 Timothy 4:6-7

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

The Sun is one of the greatest luminary objects that God has made. Its greatness is tied to its usefulness in serving the world. It does not shine for itself; each time it rises it brings joy to the world because of its impact. Without it the whole world will be in darkness and will die of food scarcity within a few years.

It’s because the Sun continues to be a channel of blessing that the Earth has not become a frozen wasteland. We have warmth, solar powered homes, cars, and other appliances.

God has placed us believers on the global stage to shine as stars. Darkness is not supposed to hold sway when we allow ourselves to be true channels of blessings.

God called Abram and said, to him “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you. “I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing.” Genesis 12:1-2

His cooperation and obedience paved way for God to make him a channel of blessing indeed.

It is more blessed to give than to receive. When you talk about giving, a lot of times we think ofr money or material things only. However, giving is beyond that. In 2 Timothy 4:6a, Apostle Paul said, “For I am already being poured out like a drink offering…” .

Being “poured out like a drink offering” signifies living a life of selfless service, dedicating one’s time, talents, and resources to God’s purposes and the welfare of others. It signifies a life lived in devotion, sacrifice, and a willingness to give oneself fully for the cause of Christ.

The more you allow God’s blessings to flow through you to others the more blessed you become yourself. A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. Proverbs 11:25

Key Nugget: The more you allow God’s blessings to flow through you to others the more blessed you become yourself

Be A Blessing Channel (2)

Date: Tuesday, 19th August, 2025

Text:  Luke 12:16-21

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

There is nothing that we have that we have not received. The word of God says, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above…”James 1:17. If we have received it from God, we have a responsibility to share it with others who are in need of it. God never blesses us for ourselves alone.

Blessings are more than money or material things. They include the gift of life, salvation, optimal health, divine wisdom, favour, opportunities, good looks, comfort, peace of mind, children, happy marriage etc

Every blessing of God has a divine purpose. For example, Samson was born with the blessing of an unusual strength but it carries a divine purpose. His divine strength was not to oppress or bully others; it was not to amass wealth for himself. Rather, he was meant to, “Begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.” Judges 13:5

Solomon was blessed with wisdom to administer justice and govern the nation, Israel- 1 Kings 3:1-14

It is one thing to be blessed, it is another thing to be a blessing. To be a blessing is to be a channel through which God impacts the life of others with blessings through you.

A funnel that does not allow the free flow of liquid contents through it would be considered a dysfunctional one that should be discarded. The rich fool in today’s text, unfortunately lost his life because all his plans were centered on himself only, as though there were no needy persons around him- Luke 12:16-21.

Action Nugget: Ask God for the grace to fulfill purpose as a functional channel of blessings.

Be A Blessing Channel

Date: Sunday, 17th August, 2025

Text:  Isaiah 6:1-8

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

A channel can mean a means of passage for something. For example a funnel can be a means of passage for a fluid you are trying to pour into a keg or other small mouthed containers.

God is always in the business of blessing his people but he doesn’t usually do so without passing through available human channels. For example, when God wanted to bless the perishing world with a Saviour he passed through Virgin Mary as a channel. Jesus Christ did not jump down from Heaven, he passed through a human channel- Luke 1-2.

When the Most High wants to carry out his purpose, he uses human channels like you and I. when he wanted to deliver the children of Israel from a 430-year bondage, he used Moses and Aaron as channels of deliverance through whom he displayed his mighty power in the sight of stubborn Pharaoh- Exodus 1-15.

The Lord is always in search of whom to use as a channel. In Isaiah 6, after his divine purification encounter, Isaiah, the prophet heard a clarion call from the Lord in heaven, saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” Luckily, Isaiah was available, and he said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:1-8.

You can’t be a channel of blessing and you suffer lack of the same blessing. When the widow of Zarephath allowed herself to be used as a channel to bless Elijah, her food source did not run dry. 1 Kings 17:7-16

Reflective Nugget: Will you allow yourself to be a channel of blessing?

The Sleep of the Beloved (2)

Date: Saturday, 16th August, 2025

Text:  Acts 12:1-18

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Insomnia is the name medical experts give to the inability to easily fall asleep, waking up too frequently at night or waking up too early with an inability to return back to sleep. Such people may find themselves weak and drowsy in the daytime; they may find themselves struggling with the ability to concentrate or may be forgetting things easily.

One of the things responsible for this could be anxiety. When the mind is crowded with a lot of worries, sleep may be driven far away. In Daniel 6, King Darius was unable to sleep after delivering a deadly judgment of confinement in the den of lions against Daniel (who was falsely accused of revolt against the king). Daniel happened to be the most distinguished member of his cabinet.

Due to the weight of his decree, the king refused food and any form of entertainment and was distressed in his mind. The next morning, he rushed to the lions’ den to see what had become of Daniel. His peace returned when he realized that God had preserved the life of his friend in the midst of the lions- Daniel 6:1-23.

However, there is something remarkable about the case of Peter when he was arrested for no reason other than persecution and locked up in jail. He was bound with two chains and guarded by sixteen (16) soldiers. The night before he was to be brought to court for trial and death sentence, he was found fast asleep in his prison. Can you imagine that?

How was Peter able to sleep while he was in chains, a night before his death sentence? The answer is very simple: he had peace that surpasses human understanding. The word of God says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

Peter experienced unusual peace in the midst of his storm. Did he die in the hands of Herod, his enemy? No. The same God who delivered Daniel from the lion’s den, sent his angels who delivered the apostle miraculously- Acts 12:1-18.

That same God is still alive. Put your trust in him. Cast all your burdens on him and he will deliver you from every stormy situation in Jesus name.

Action Nugget: Don’t allow worry or anxiety to rob you of your sleep.

The Sleep of the Beloved

Date: Friday, 15th August, 2025

Text:  Psalm 127:1-2

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

After a hard day’s work, the human body needs time to recuperate, re-energize, refresh and get set for the next day’s work. Even God (who neither sleeps nor slumber) rested after doing the hard work of creating the Heavens and the Earth-Genesis 2:1-3. When you have a restful night you wake up the following morning feeling strong, calm and calculated, ready to tackle the day’s challenges. The opposite is also true.

Sleep is natural and sound sleep is a gift from God. The word of God says, “He giveth his beloved sleep- Psalm 127:2c. Again, the word of God says, “The sleep of a labouring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep- Ecclesiastes 5:12.

Apart from balanced diet and regular exercise, adequate sleep is the third essential requirement of optimal health. Several life-threatening diseases are linked to lack of adequate sleep. When some people’s blood pressures are high, doctors will advise that they take more time to rest.

Some can’t sleep until they have swallowed sleeping pills. So if you find it easy to fall asleep, give thanks to God for it and don’t take it for granted.

However, just like it applies to everything in life, too much of sleep is evil as it leads to laziness and tends to poverty- Proverbs 24:33-34.

There is time for everything and God makes everything beautiful in his own time. When you do the right thing at the wrong time, it makes the right thing to become wrong. Sleep is good if it is done moderately and at the right time.

Some have lost great opportunities because they rested when they are supposed to be wide awake working. The word of God says, “He who gathers crops in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.” Proverbs 10:5

It is dangerous when you sleep at the wrong time. A soldier sleeping at the battle front will likely not make it home alive.

Prayer Nugget: Father, I ask for the wisdom to sleep and wake up at the right time in Jesus name.

The Spirit of Understanding

Date: Thursday, 14th August, 2025

Text:  Isaiah 11:1-3

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

The ability to see things God’s way and act accordingly is called wisdom. Wisdom is also defined as doing the right thing at the right time. Wisdom is also the ability to see into the future and prepare adequately for it. If wisdom is knowing the right thing to do, understanding is knowing why and how to do the right thing.

The Spirit of Understanding is one of the seven Spirits of God listed in Isaiah 11:2: “The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.”

By this Spirit of Understanding, Joseph interpreted Pharaoh’s dream – Genesis 41:15-16. Daniel had understanding in all visions anddreams -Daniel 1:17. By this same spirit of God the Men of Issachar – understood the times and knew what Israel should do- 1 Chronicles 12:32.

Notice that the men with the spirit of wisdom and understanding are problem solvers. Joseph was not only able to interpret the king’s dream but he was also able to proffer solution on what to do to salvage the predicted famine situation- Genesis 41:1-41. It is not enough to know a problem; the spirit of understanding gives the solution to the problem.

Daniel was able to explain riddles and solve difficult problems, courtesy of the Spirit of Understanding- Daniel 5: 10-12. When you operate in this spirit you will neither live in misunderstanding nor be in error.

Prophetic Nugget: Receive grace to operate in the Spirit of Understanding in Jesus name.

Saved to Serve

Date: Wednesday, 13th August, 2025

Text:  Exodus 9:1-6

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Everything God does is for a specific purpose. If he has blessed you; you are meant to use it for his glory. If he has given you beauty like he did to Esther, it is not by chance or by mistake, he has done it for a purpose. In the case of Esther, the Queen, God favoured her with beauty so that she can be strategically placed in a position to save Israel from annihilation.

Many of us miss out on God because we do not key into His plan and purpose for our lives and it is obvious from the way we live our lives. There is a saying that when the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. The word of God says where there is no vision the people perish; another version says where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint- Proverbs 28:19.

When the children of Israel were under the oppression and bondage of their taskmasters, they cried to God for deliverance. God answered and sent them a deliverer in the person of the prophet Moses.

The Almighty God spoke to Moses saying, “Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith the Lord God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.” Exodus 9:1. Take note of the last clause, “That they may serve me.” The basis for their release was that they should use their freedom to serve the Lord, not themselves.

The terms and conditions of their deliverance was that they will serve the Lord and not idols. They would continue to enjoy their freedom as long as they kept to these terms.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t keep to the terms as they eventually backslid into idol worship. In the book of Jeremiah we saw how the Lord warned them to repent again and again but they didn’t. Finally, they fell out of favour with God and they lost their freedom. They eventually went into a compulsory 70-year captivity in the land of their enemies- Jeremiah 25 & 52.

Have you been delivered from satanic bondage? Do you wish to remain free? Then, spend your freedom serving the Lord because you are saved to serve.

Prayer Nugget: Father, I ask for the grace to remain faithful in serving your purpose and plans for my life Jesus name.

Refuse to be Empty

Date: Tuesday, 12th August, 2025

Text:  Matthew 12:43-45

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Nature is not created to accommodate vacuums. Something must fill every empty space, whether positive or negative; good or evil.

Our Lord Jesus Christ told taught that when a demon is dislodged from their hiding places in the life of a man, they go about looking for a new accommodation; but they find none. The next thing they do is to go back to their former habitation and investigate the new condition. If they find out that their former place is swept clean and empty; they go out and look for demons that are seven times more wicked than themselves and the last state of the man becomes worse than the first- Matthew 12:43-45.

A man was brought to my father in the Lord for healing. His neck was stiff and he suffered from paralysis on one side of the body. He was preached to and led to Christ. Thereafter, he was prayed for and he obtained the mercy of God. His health was restored and he was perfectly made whole.

It was not long after he got his healing that he stopped attending church services. A follow-up team was sent to check on him and found out why he no longer attended the service. He told them that he didn’t see any need to continue to attend, after all he had gotten his healing.

He compared the church yo a hospital; asking the team whether it is right to continue to attend a hospital after a patient has got his healing. The devil successfully deceived him into seeing the church as a mere ‘hospital’. He had lost out of the fact that he got his healing on the basis of his relationship with Christ and not like a hospital where you pay to get treatment.

The follow-up team left his house. Not long after, he lost his healing and this time around they saw him paralyzed in the two sides of the body; neck stiff and saliva drooping out of his mouth. The demons that left him came back and found him empty- empty of God’s presence because you can only drive true joy from his presence; he was empty of God’s word and empty of a robust relationship with the Lord which formed the basis of his healing in the first place.

Reflective Nugget: May you not lose your miracles in Jesus name.
