Text: Exodus 17:8-13

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Behind the scenes both the forces of good and evil have their agenda and they write their scripts programming it to be acted on the stage of human life. Whose script you will play out depends on whose side you are on.

When there was a war between Joshua and the Amalekites, Moses was at the background with his hands lifted up. As long as Moses held up his arms, the Israelites won, but when he got tired and put his arms down, the Amalekites started winning.

When Moses’ arms grew tired, he was assisted by Aaron and Hur who brought a stone for him to sit on, while they stood beside him and held up his arms, holding them steady until the sun went down. In this way Joshua totally defeated the Amalekite- Exodus 17:11-13.

The Israelites had the upper hand when Moses’ hands remained lifted because then the host of Heaven took the lead in the battle but when his hands became weary and came down, the Amalekites had the upperhand because then the Israelites fought without divine assistance.

Are you already getting tired of lifting up your hands to the One who has power to fight for you?

Whenever you get tired  fight with your power alone, you lose the battle. Ask the Lord to strengthen you as you keep your hands lifted.

Spiritual battles are neither fought with physical weapons nor psychological tools. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ- 2 Corinthians 10:4-5.

Engage the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, and pull down the strongholds of the enemy in your life in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Father, as I lift up my hands in faith and obedience, strengthen me and grant me victory in Jesus name.

Text: Ephesians 6:12-13

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

When I was in Kaduna State, Northwestern Nigeria, a Senior Pastor in our church shared his experience after a vigil on a certain night. The vigil had ended around 2am and he was headed home. As he drove home, he reached a particular roundabout where he saw some witches and wizards having a strange meeting around this strategic location. He knew something diabolical was going on but he couldn’t place his finger on what exactly the coven was up to.

At about 2pm that same day, a ghastly motor accident took place around the same spot where the witches met earlier in the day. When the pastor heard the sad news he remembered the ugly sight he saw earlier in the morning.

A superficial observer would have blamed this accident on some physical factors like bad driving, terrible roads and other human considerations. However, behind the scene, the real programmers of the evil incident were not visible at the sight of the accident.

Today’s text says, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6:12-13

You need to surrender your life to the Lordship of Jesus and always prayerfully redeem each day from every evil program set up against it. May you not be a victim of blood sucking demons in Jesus name. You will not fall into the trap of the enemy in Jesus name.

Prophetic Nugget: On a daily basis, you will not be a victim  of evil script writers and programmers behind the scenes  but a victor in Jesus Name.

Text: Psalm 33:6-9

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

When you watch a movie, you will only see the casts or actors on screen. However, on that set there are several crew members working behind the scenes- the cameramen, gaffers (light guys), movie director, production manager, script supervisor etc

Someone has described the world as a drama stage with humans as actors and several other invisible players working behind the scenes, both good and evil.

The fact that you don’t see the players behind the scenes does not mean they don’t exist. To a superficial observer, the heavens and earth came into existence on their own. But behind the scenes, we know that God spoke the Heavens and the Earth into existence- Genesis 1-2

In today’s text we learn that , “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. He gathers the waters of the sea together ]as a heap; He lays up the deep in storehouses.

“Let all the Earth fear the Lord; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke, and it was done;He commanded, and it stood fast.” Psalm 33:6-9

Behind the scenes the Lord Jesus Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father, praying for you; he is busy interceding for you day and night- Romans 8:34. You may not see any evidence of his intercession immediately, but for as many as put their trust in him.

Prayer Nugget: Thank you Jesus for working behind the scenes, interceding for me. I will love you and do your will till the very end.

Nearer Than Ever-Breakthrough

Date: Saturday, 3rd May, 2025

Text: Joshua 1:6-8

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

The story was told of a man who invested in mining. He had done his research and knew that there were precious stones buried deep into the earth in a particular environment. So he bought the site and the heavy equipment he needed for the exploration of the mineral he was in search of.

The work began and he labored for several months digging and digging deeper into the earth determined to discover the precious stones. However, it seemed the more he dug, the farther the mineral relocated deeper into the Earth. The miner was getting discouraged and the work slowed down but continued.

At a point he started contemplating giving up the project as he began to see it as a waste of time. He struggled with the prospect of continuing. His purpose changed and he finally lost the motivation to continue. The work eventually stopped and he decided to put everything up for sale- both land and equipment. Since he was desperately determined to sell as quickly as possible, someone with a bright vision bought everything at a cheap, giveaway price.

The new buyer continued the work with renewed vigour and hope. After digging for a few more meters something happened one day. At one more stroke of the excavator, the miners discovered something very fascinating. They had reached the precious stones they were looking for.

In other words, the new buyer reaped the rewards of the labour of the original miner who was discouraged and gave up, not realizing he was nearer to his breakthrough than ever.

Friend, are you contemplating giving up on that God-given project? Don’t play into the hands of discouragement and lose your vision.

God told Joshua saying, “Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.” Joshua 1:6

If Joshua needed divine inner strength and good courage to complete the project God gave him, you need them more. Don’t abandon that project because you are nearer to your breakthrough than ever.

Prayer Nugget: I come against every spirit of failure and abandoned project in Jesus Name.

His Ability In Disability (2)

Date: Friday, 2nd May, 2025

Text: Jeremiah 29:11

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

About twenty one years ago I visited the University Of Jos, Plateau State in the North Central part of Nigeria. There I met a fascinating young Cameroonian postgraduate student. By then he was a man around his early thirties who had lost his sight at the age of twelve.

His eyes were wide open and looked very bright and clear but he was completely blind. He narrated his story saying he was not born blind but one day while he was outside in their house premises, the weather suddenly changed and it became dark and windy as though it was about to rain. Something like a whirlwind blew some sand into his eyes and he cried out for help. He tried to clean off the dust but the situation got worse and that was the last time he saw.

Before I met him he was already blind for over twenty years. However, he did not allow his predicament to limit him. He had attended the School For The Blind and graduated successfully. He went ahead to bag his degree and later became a Lecturer in the School for The Blind. His job was so lucrative that among his eleven non-blind siblings he was the most financially buoyant and stable.

Though he was the only blind person among his 11 siblings, the others who were not blind and their aged mother depended on him for survival. What a paradox of life!

When asked for the meaning of his Cameroonian native name, he said, it literally means , “Eyes”. In other words the one who had no sight became the eyes of the family.

He was so ambitious that he still left the shores of his country to further his studies in Nigeria, when I met him. He was so jovial that you couldn’t be around him and not laugh. He was very warm, accommodating and so disciplined that one day while eating from a plate of rice (he cooked many meals by himself), he finished his food without a grain falling to the ground. Even many of us with two bright eyes find that difficult.

Don’t allow yourself to be weighed down by your challenges. His plan for you are not for evil but for good to give you hope and a future- Jeremiah 29:11.

Prophetic Nugget: Rise brilliantly above your challenges because there is ability in every disability.
