Don’t Lose Your Guard

Date: Wednesday, 2nd April, 2025

Text: Luke 4:1-13

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

When the Lord was tempted of the devil, he won three times; however, the word of God says, And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.” Luke 4:13. The devil temporarily left Him until a more opportune time.

The devil hopes for a time the Lord will let down his guard; a time when he would be careless and vulnerable to attacks.  But he never got one.

I pray for you that the devil will never catch you off guard in Jesus name.

Most times when Satan cannot get an opportune time, he creates one by shooting arrows of discouragement against the souls of the saints. Discouragement often sets in when there is delay in answered prayers or when expectations are not met. Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when desire is fulfilled, it is a tree of life- Proverbs 13:12.

Discouragement may also set in through the arrow of sorrow shot by the enemy. This can happen when there is an unfortunate loss of a loved one; financial loss; loss of valuable property, job etc. This calls for patience and endurance on the part of the saints.

Whenever you are faced with a discouraging situation, always remember that you are not alone. The Lord has promised never to leave nor forsake you- Hebrews 13:5. Your labour of love for God can never be in vain. Lift up your head and put your hope firmly on the Lord; be steadfast and unmoveable.

Don’t give the devil a foothold by losing your guard. Remain faithful till the very end. You will not be a victim in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Father, I ask for grace to remain steadfast in your love always; I will not lose my guard in Jesus name.

Thank God for the ‘Little’ Things

Date: Tuesday, 1st April, 2025

Text: 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Happy New month! Welcome to the month of April and the second quarter of the year. I enjoin you to always give thanks to God for everything both great and small.

Those things you consider to be little are actually big in the lives of so many other people. For example, you find it so easy to fall asleep whenever you hit the bed and so you take it for granted. But for millions of people all over the world they find that same thing difficult; some of them have to constantly swallow sleeping pills before they can get some sleep. Be thankful!

At your age your body parts are still intact. That can only be by the grace of God. Earlier this year, I heard the testimony of an old woman who recently clocked a hundred years old. Her set of teeth were still complete; she could read the Bible without glasses; she could still move around without any form of aid. She spoke very clearly without her voice fading or shaking.

When last did you thank God for your sanity? Did you know that there are so many well educated, well connected people that are patients of psychiatric hospitals? Be thankful for your mental health!

Someone was crying that he has no shoes and then as he was going along the road he met someone that has no legs but was very happy and grateful to God.  He immediately realized his error and began thanking God for his legs and he forgot about his lack of shoes.

Be thankful to God for those things you consider to be little. What you take for granted and call ‘little’ is a big deal in the lives of millions of other people on the planet Earth. Therefore, think deeply and be thankful.
