Text: Revelation 12:7-11

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

The word of God says, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Matthew 6:34

Who brings the trouble? It’s certainly not from God but the devil. He moves about seeking for those he may devour. Give him no foothold. Submit therefore to God but resist the devil and he shall flee from you- James 4:7.

One effective way to knock the head of the serpent (the devil) and put him where he belongs is to use the same strategy that was used to defeat him in Heaven.

When war broke out in Heaven, Michael and his angels fought with the dragon (the devil, the serpent) and the dragon and his angels fought back, but they did not prevail; they lost their place in heaven as they were defeated when the game changers were introduced into the battle. The word of God says, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony” Revelation 12:11

There is a word of God appropriate for every situation of life. When the devil rears up his ugly head, confront him with the right scripture. For example, when you are sick, ask sickness to disappear from your body because, your body is the temple of the living God where strangers are not allowed to dwell. And by the stripes of Jesus we were healed” Psalm 18:45; Isaiah 53:5; 1Peter 2:24; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.

Are you harassed by the enemy? Make use of the word of God which says, ‘Let God arise and let his enemies be scattered” Psalm 68:1

Action Nugget: Make it a habit to back up all your prayers with written word of God and by so doing claim God’s promises and put the devil where he belongs.

Forgiveness Is Higher

Text: 2 Kings 6:8-23

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

When Elijah was to be arrested by 50 soldiers sent by a king, he was afraid and he called fire from heaven and destroyed them. This happened twice until the angel of God instructed him not to be afraid but to go with the arresters- 2 Kings 1:1-15.

In the case of Elisha with the double anointing, when he was to be arrested by a larger army of soldiers; firstly he was not afraid because, with the eyes of the Spirit, he could see the army of the Lord which outnumbered the enemy army.

Secondly, Elisha preferred to strike the enemies with blindness and led them to the king. The king wanted to kill them but Elisha discouraged him but instead asked the king to give them food and water and then sent them back to their country. The enemies where thus humiliated- 2 Kings 6:8-23.

In doing this he obeyed the word of God which says, “If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; for so you will heap coals of fire on his head, and the Lord will reward you.” Proverbs 25:21-22

When the Samaritans rejected the gospel of Christ, James and John they asked the lord whether it was okay to call fire down from heaven to destroy them but Jesus turned down their request and rebuked them- Luke 9:51-56.

The same Samaritans that rejected the Lord initially eventually accepted him later when Phillip the Evangelist visited them with same gospel. This time the whole city accepted the Lord and there was joy everywhere in the land- Acts 8:4-8. What if they had been roasted by the fire proposed by John and James, will there be a city to evangelize?

Key Nugget: Forgiveness is higher than vengeance. Justice is great but mercy is higher.

You Will Not Be Stranded!

Date: Tuesday, 15th April, 2025

Text: 2 Kings 4:1-7

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

In 2 Kings 4 we come across the story of widow whose husband was a prophet. He had borrowed money from some creditors and could not pay till he died. The creditors had threatened to enslave his two boys as collateral since he could not pay.

In distress the widow approached Elisha for help. The prophet asked her to tell him what she had and she told him she had only a little olive oil in a jar. That was enough for God to multiply. She was asked go to her neighbors and borrow as many empty jars as she could. Then she and her sons were to go into her house, close the door, and start pouring oil into the jars. She was to set each one aside as soon as it was full..

So the woman went into her house with her sons, closed the door, took the small jar of olive oil, and poured oil into the jars as her sons brought them to her. When they had filled all the jars, she asked if there were any more. When there was no more jar to be filled the olive oil stopped flowing.

She went back to Elisha, the prophet, who said to her, “Sell the olive oil and pay all your debts, and there will be enough money left over for you and your sons to live on.” 1 Kings 4:7b

Everybody has something no matter how little. Moses had his rod and God used it; the widow of Zarephath had a little flour she could bake. The woman in today’s story had a little oil in a jar. You too have something!

Sometimes oil represents the Holy Spirit- Acts 10:38. He alone is the one that will multiply that little thing you have. Are you harassed, stranded or indebted? You need the oil of divine favour to flow in your direction. That little thing you have that seems inconsequential is what God will use to bless you.

Prayer Nugget: Father, let the oil of favour flow in my direction and deliver me from every shameful or embarrassing situation in Jesus name.

The School of Greatness (7)

Date: Monday, 14th April, 2025

Text: 2 Kings 5:1-27

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

It is not enough to enroll in a school but it is very important to take all the required courses and pass them successfully. Just like it happens in conventional schools, some candidates who enroll in God’s School of Greatness find themselves drop out.

A very good example of such was Gehazi. He could have gotten a double portion of Elisha’s anointing but greed took the better part of him. Rather than inherit a double dose of his master’s anointing; he was cursed by his master being afflicted with generational leprosy as a punishment for his covetousness and deception- 2 Kings 5:20-27.

His case was similar to but worse than that of Esau who sold his birthright for a plate of porridge- Genesis 25:28-34. Esau could have inherited a double portion of his father’s estate being the first born but because he could not endure the temporary pain of hunger, he despised his birthright and lost it.

Another student who dropped out from this school was Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Christ for thirty pieces of silver- Matthew 26:14-16.

Unfortunately, Demas also dropped out because of the love of this world- 2 Timothy 4:10. He could no longer bear the burden of the sufferings that went with the work of God. His heart no longer submitted to the word of God which says, “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1:2-4

It is not enough to be a candidate in God’s School of Greatness but it’s God’s desire that we finish strong. Joseph the Prime Minister; Joshua the successor of Moses; Jesus Christ, our perfect example and many others successfully graduated.

Prophetic Nugget: Receive grace to successfully graduate from God‘s School of Greatness in Jesus name.

Text: Hebrews 5:7-11

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Those who didn’t attend God’s School of Greatness but find themselves in positions of greatness end up disappointing God. An example was Saul, the first king of Israel was the son of a rich man called Kish. He never prepared for the greatness thrust on him. Eventually, he lost out a few years into his 40-year reign- 1 Samuel 13:13-14. For the greater part of his reign he was rejected by God and suffered from the torment of an evil spirit. He eventually committed suicide and perished in the hands of his enemies.

King Solomon did not pass through God’s refining furnace of affliction and hardships like his father. He had no record of suffering or difficulties before he became king. Everything was easy for him and the kingdom was placed in his hands on the platter of gold. So he missed the classes the School of Greatness would have taught him.

He tried to make up for that by asking God for supernatural wisdom which he got; however, along the line, he backslid terribly into idolatry even though the Lord Almighty had appeared to him twice. Unfortunately, God raised adversaries to attack him and eventually tore a greater part of the kingdom away from his ancestral lineage- 1 Kings 11.

As an example for us, our Lord Jesus Christ was not exempted from the School Of Greatness. He had to attend the school because he was one hundred percent God and one hundred percent man. He was both the Son Of God and the Son of Man.

In order to be our high priest who can relate with our human frailties and infirmities he had to attend the school. Concerning him the word of God says, “Though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.” Hebrews 5:8-9

If our Lord Jesus needed to attend the School Of Greatness, we all need it even more.

Prayer Nugget: Father, by your mercy, help me to be made perfect in your School of Greatness in Jesus name.

Text: Philippians 2:3-4

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Leadership is about influence. Your level of influence is directly proportional to the quality of impact you make in the life of others. In other words your quantum of influence depends on how many lives you have touched. Here in lies true greatness.

There are some people who occupy positions of influence but are not influential. In the School of Greatness one of the lessons to learn is that to be influential you need to be selfless. The word of God says, “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” Philippians 2:3-4

Just as the Sun does not shine for itself but for the whole of humanity, you are not a leader to serve yourself but others. Be interested in the welfare of others.

When Rehoboam, the grandson of David was to be crowned king, the people complained to him about the harsh labor his father Solomon had placed on them. They requested him to lessen their burdens. He told them he wanted to make consultation and feed them back.

When he consulted with the elders of Israel, they answered him saying, “If you will be a servant to these people today, and serve them, and answer them, and speak good words to them, then they will be your servants forever.” 1 Kings 12:7

However, he turned their wise advice down and he lost out as the Israelites revolted and went to serve another leader who was ready to listen to them- 1 Kings 12:8-24.

Many leaders fail today because their impacts are not felt though they occupy positions of influence. There are fathers whose impacts are not felt by their children and wives. We have many politicians whose impacts are not felt by the citizens they claim to serve.

We have so many title and position holders in our neighborhoods, communities, and society in general but with very little or no impact. The reason is because everybody is looking to his own interests and care very little about serving the interests of others.

Prophetic Nugget: Receive the grace to make impact in your generation in Jesus name.

Text: Proverbs 12:24

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

When you check the whole of the Bible you won’t see a lazy great man. Laziness and greatness are like words and opposites. They are like two parallel lines that cannot meet. If by chance, greatness falls on a lazy person, he won’t be able to sustain it.

In God’s School of Greatness, diligence is a very core course. God made the whole of the Heavens and Earth in just six days! That can only happen through a hardworking God.

Prophet Isaiah said, “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.” Isaiah 40:28-29.

Our Lord Jesus said, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.” John 5:17.

They say, “Like father, like son.” If you are a true child of God; you cannot afford to be lazy. It is not in our spiritual DNA.

Again the Bible says, “The hand of the diligent will rule, But the negligent and lazy will be put to forced labor- Proverbs 12:24 (AMP).

To be diligent is not only to be hardworking but to do so consistently. In order to be consistent, discipline, perseverance, determination and focus are needed.

Do you want to be great? You now know what to do.

Action Nugget: In order to be great, cast out the spirit of laziness and imbibe the spirit of diligence.

Text: Genesis 12:1-9

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Another candidate of the Most High in the School of Greatness was Abraham. He was from an idolatrous background, a situation which could have been a great barrier in his relationship with God but he humbly submitted himself to be groomed.

He had his own limitations and challenges like we all have. What worked out easily in the life of others was difficult in the life of Abraham. As at the age of 99, his wife was still barren. Perhaps everybody had concluded that Abraham was going to die childless and his property would be inherited by non-family members.

However, in the School Of Greatness, age is not a barrier- Abraham enrolled into the school at the old age of seventy five when most people would have died and be forgotten-Genesis 12:1-4. A core course or major module he took in this school was Obedience- the ability to comply with divine instructions.

He was tested and tried and found to be a successful candidate. He not only obeyed God from time to time but he also did so promptly. Also his obedience was not partial like that of King Saul but total.

When he was asked to relocate from his family to an undisclosed location he did not delay but did so without hesitation- Genesis 12:1-9. God wanted to further test his compliance level, he asked him to circumcise himself and household, he did so early, even though painful- Genesis 17.

Again God asked him chase away his concubine Hagar and her son, Ishmael; he did so without wasting time- Genesis 21:8-21. As if that was not enough, he was given the most difficult examination on this course called obedience when he was asked to sacrifice his only son, Isaac, as a burnt offering- that was strange and fearful but, again, he obeyed as usual; even though God stopped him in the process- Genesis 22.

By the time God was through with him, he was already a great man- the father of faith and a standard of obedience.

Prophetic Nugget: Receive the grace for prompt and total obedience in Jesus name.

Text: Matthew 23:11-12

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

God’s definition of greatness is different from ours.  In his school of greatness he doesn’t raise bosses but leaders. When Israelites asked for a king in the order of the world, God sent Samuel to warn them that worldly kings were bosses and not leaders- 1 Samuel 8:4-22. Leaders lead by example while bosses just issue decrees without necessarily doing much to make compliance easy.

When the disciples were fighting among themselves on who was the greatest among them, the Lord caught wind of it and corrected them saying, “The greatest among you will be your servant. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” Matthew 23:11-12

Service is a key module or core course in God’s School Of Greatness. You want to be great? Get ready to serve and not be served. To serve is to sacrifice your energy, resources, time, and sometimes even your ego and dignity in order to advance God’s kingdom.

We are commanded to daily deny ourselves, carry our crosses and follow Christ- Luke 9:23. We are to daily bear the burden of kingdom advancement in our individual capacities. Burdens are not pleasurable to carry but his grace is sufficient for us. We are to serve the Lord with his joy being our strengths.

As stewards, we are to serve God faithfully- when it is convenient and when it is not. We do it whether we feel like it or not.

Your labour of love in his vineyard will surely be rewarded; it can never be in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58.

Prayer Nugget: Father, grant me the heart of faithful service to advance your kingdom in Jesus name.

Text: Psalm 119 vs 71

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

It is one thing to attain greatness but it is completely another thing to maintain greatness. The one who is not sufficiently prepared for greatness will not keep it for long. God therefore has a way of preparing his own candidates for it.

David was God’s candidate of greatness but he needed to be groomed and specially prepared for it in God’s School Of Greatness. This was the reason he was not crowned king the day he was anointed by Samuel. It took several years after his ordination before he ascended the throne. He had to conquer giant and fight many wars both internal and external.

While he was running away from King Saul for his dear life, several frustrated souls like him surrounded him and he became their leader. Initially, about four hundred (400) homeless people gathered around him- 1 Samuel 22:2; later they grew to six hundred (600) – 1 Samuel 30:9-25.

Their relationships with David transformed their lives over time and they became David’s mighty men during his kingship-2 Samuel 23:8-39.

All the while God was preparing him for the throne. He had to learn humility, tenacity, leadership and patience from his suffering and hardships. He needed all the above qualities to maintain his greatness when he eventually attained it.

No wonder the psalmist said, “It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.”  Psalm 119 vs 71

Has God given you dreams and visions of greatness but it seems the going is tough for you right now? Don’t be discouraged, but brace yourself up and learn all God has to offer you and when you eventually attain the promised greatness it will last for a long time.

Prayer Nugget: Father, grant me the patience to learn all you have for me in the school of greatness in Jesus name.
