In His Image (2)

Date: Saturday, 8th March, 2025

Text: Psalm 139:13-16.

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

The fact that we are created in the image of God confirms that we cannot also be descendants of apes as some evolutionary scientists falsely claim. Such claim directly attacks the authenticity and integrity of God’s unfailing word.

Another implication of being created in God’s image is the sanctity of the human life. It is a very grave sin to deliberately put an end to the existence of a fellow human’s life. In Exodus 20:13, the word of God commands saying, “Thou shalt not kill.” Abortion is murder because it terminates human life. From conception to death, the sanctity of life must be preserved.

Life does not start from birth but from conception. The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:4-5

David said, “For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.” Psalm 139:13-16.

Abortion is murder so is suicide. Suicide is self-murder. All humans are created in the image of god therefore; it is a grave sin to deliberately take the life of another human, except in war, battle or accident.

Action Nugget: Repent from and forsake every thought of murder in the form of abortion, suicide or other forms of desecration of the human life.

Text: Genesis 1:26-27

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Man is a special creature because he was created in line with the likeness of God himself. When God wanted to make the Heavens and the Earth, the plants and animals, he simply spoke them into existence.

However, when he wanted to make Man, he had a conference with the Son and the Holy Spirit (the God-Head), saying, “Let Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:26-27.

Man was given authority by God which makes him a creator himself. This is why Man is full of innovations and creativity. He creates new inventions from time to time. Man is a ‘god’ because he has God-like authority. This is why the Psalmist said, “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.” Psalm 82:6.

This is why we must be careful about what we say with our mouths. If God can speak the Heavens and Earth into existence, then, we that are in his image can both create and destroy with our mouths. The word of God says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:21

Man was given authority and dominion to rule and reign on Earth. It was lost to sin and the devil but it was restored through Christ Jesus- Romans 3:23; 6:23. The Lord said, “All Power in Heaven and on Earth has been given to me”. And at the name of Jesus Christ every knee must bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord to the glory of God the Father- Philippians 2:10-12.

Key Nugget: Since we are created in God’s image, we must be mindful of what we say with our mouths.

The Giver of Abilities

Date: Wednesday, 5th March, 2025

Text: Matthew 25:14-30

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

God treats us as individuals. He knows the capacity and peculiarities of each of us. He knows our individual strengths and limitations. He did not invest in each of us the same way, therefore, he does not expect returns from us in the same measure. To whom little is given, little is expected in return; and to whom much is given, much is expected in return. Luke 12:48.

The story of the king who invested in his stewards explains this better. The three were given talents according to the abilities that God gave each of them. One was give five talents, the other was given two; while the one with the least divine ability was only given one talent. And the king went his way.

Each of them was expected to trade with his talents and double them. This means that the one with five achieved one hundred percent performance by adding another five; the one given two also achieved a hundred percent performance by adding just two; and the one given one talent was expected to add just one in order to achieve a hundred percent.

God did not expect ten talents from the one given only two; neither did he expect four from the one given only one- Matthew 25:14-30. That is why you should not compare yourself with your neighbour. Some people erroneously compare themselves to others and feel inferior. Be thankful to the Giver of abilities and be contented with what you have and who you are.

Trying to do beyond your ability will only cause you untold hardships, difficulty and disappointments. Maximise your potentials and work hard within your area of your God-given abilities.

Key Nugget: Be thankful to the Giver of abilities and be contented with who you are and work with what you have.

Put All In His Basket

Date: 4th March, 2025

Text: Proverbs 3:5-6

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

There is a saying that it is not wise to put all your eggs in one basket. It means you should not risk everything on the success of one venture; it also means you should not put all your efforts or resources into doing one thing because if it fails, you have no alternatives left. Humanly speaking this is true and it is a wise piece of advice.

However, the ways of God are not our ways, neither are his thoughts our thoughts; as the Heavens are higher than the Earth, so are his ways higher than our ways and his thoughts than our thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9.

If you desire to achieve results in your dealings with the Most High you have to put all your eggs in his basket. Any other basket is a counterfeit. You must trust in him with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways you must acknowledge him so that he can direct your paths- Proverbs 3:5-6

When God knows you have an alternative outside him, he will simply step aside and refuse to act on your behalf until you have exhausted all your options and cry to him for mercy.

Jacob made God is only option. When he had an opportunity to encounter a holy angel, he held firmly unto him and said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me.” Genesis 32:24-29

God cannot fail; he is reliable and dependable; a covenant keeping God. Don’t allow the devil to  play games with your faith by arranging situations that bring doubts and instill fear in your heart.

Action Nugget: Put all your eggs in his basket and you will suffer no loss in Jesus name.

The Book of Remembrance (2)

Date: 3rd March, 2025

Text: Malachi 3:16-18

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Today’s text says, “Then those who feared the Lord talked with each other, and the Lord listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the Lord and honored his name. “On the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty, “they will be my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as a father has compassion and spares his son who serves him. And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.” Malachi 3:16-18

The fear of God, consistent obedience to his will and faithful service in his kingdom are factors that provoke the Most High to open the Book of Remembrance for his own people.

Formerly closed doors are forced open and no man is able to shut it. When Rachel seemed to have been forgotten, she could not conceive. All her efforts to do so proved abortive. She was not sterile and neither was Jacob her husband infertile. Medically she was okay but pregnancy could not just come. Beyond any reasonable human explanation she just could not conceive.

However, when God remembered her, her prayers were answered and her reproach taken away. Her womb was miraculously opened and for the first time in her life she conceived and gave birth to Prime Minister Joseph who became the famine savior of the then known world- Genesis 30:22-24.

This season, the Lord will open a Book of Remembrance concerning you and turn your fruitlessness to fruitfulness in Jesus name.

Action Nugget: Ask God to open the Book of Remembrance concerning you and your case will end in testimony in Jesus name.

Bible in One Year: Deuteronomy 30-32.

The Book of Remembrance

Date: 2nd March, 2025

Text: Esther 6:1-12

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

When God remembers a man, his long awaited lifting becomes actualized. Delays are terminated, barrenness turns to fruitfulness and obscurity turns to limelight. God cannot remember you and your helpers forget you. Rather, he will touch the heart of kings and those that matter to see to your matter. Those that have despised you will be forced to bow down to you.

Mordecai was just a gateman in the king’s palace. He seemed irrelevant like a worm that could easily be crushed. However, he had done a favour to the king of the land by exposing two door keepers, traitors who had conspired to assassinate the King Ahasuerus.-Esther 6:2.

His favour to the king was recorded but not rewarded. But when God remembered him, the king could not sleep and was influenced by the spirit of God to request for the Book of Remembrance. Thus Mordecai’s labour of love was recalled and rewarded.

God clothed Mordecai with the garment of glory and honour and humiliated his enemy, Haman who hurried home with his head buried in shame- Esther 6:12-14.

I pray for you that in this month of March, God will cause a Book of Remembrance to be opened in your favour; and compel your helpers to favour you in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Father, this new month, please open the Book Of Remembrance in my favour in Jesus name.
