He Treats Us As Individuals

Text: Psalm 18:25-26

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

God is good and he is interested in revealing himself to all. However, he respects our freewill and would not force his will on any one.

In Revelation 3:20, Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with me.”

God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that fears him, and works righteousness, is accepted with him- Acts 10:34b-35.

How much of God you will enjoy depends on your relationship with him. We don’t get the same results in our dealings with the lord because we don’t relate with him the same way.

To the faithful he shows himself faithful,   to the blameless he shows himself blameless,
to the pure he  shows himself pure, but to the devious he  shows himself shrewd. Psalm 18:25-26

He said, “I will honor those who honor me, and I will treat with contempt those who despise me.” 1Samuel 2:30b.

As we prepare to enter into the New Year why not determine to turn a new leaf and renew your relationship with your Maker?

Prophetic Nugget: As you renew your ways with the Lord may you see the good side of God in Jesus name

Text: Ephesians 6:2-3

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

God’s words don’t contradict one another instead they support one another. The Holy Scriptures don’t negate one another, rather they complement one another. The devil, however, is an expert in twisting the word of God or applying it out of context to achieve sinister motives.

God cannot ask you to do something contrary to his word. If someone comes to you in the name of the Lord and asks you to divorce your spouse because he or she is the one behind your problems such a person cannot be speaking the mind of God.

If for example, you claim that your wife is a witch, why did you marry her when you knew she is a witch? Also if you claim she became a witch after you married her; then the question would be why were you so spiritually negligent and careless to the point that your wife became possessed right under your watch?

In Malachi 2:16, God clearly said, “I hate divorce,” says the lord God of Israel. “I hate it when one of you does such a cruel thing to his wife. Make sure that you do not break your promise to be faithful to your wife.” GNT

In a similar manner if someone comes to you in the name of the Lord and asks you not to take care of your parents because they are the ones behind your challenges. Again this cannot be from God because the word of God clearly says, “Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) that it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the Earth-Ephesians 6:2-3

Many homes have been scattered and harmonious relationships ruined by false prophets and teachers.

Don’t be deceived God cannot contradict himself. Therefore, arm yourself with the word of god and safeguard your beautiful relationships from the evil hands of false prophets and teachers.

Reflective Nugget: Don’t be deceived God cannot contradict himself.

Text: Matthew 22:29

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

One of the ways to permanently gain victory over the false prophets and teachers is to have a sound knowledge of the word of God. When you recognize and are well acquainted with the original, nobody can successfully deceive you with the counterfeit. When you are familiar with the real nobody can mislead you with the fake.

The Lord Jesus Christ rebuked some religious leaders who were peddling heresies saying “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.” Matthew 22:29

When you are personally sound with the knowledge of the word of God you would be able to readily spot heresies. The Berean Christians were fantastic in this aspect. The scriptures refer to them as being more distinguished than the Thessalonian Christians who just believed everything that Paul said without doing their background checks.

The word of God describes the Berean Christians that they, “Were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.” Acts 17:11

It won’t be possible for any false prophet to swindle you if you are armed with the Sword of the Spirit which is the word of God.

Take time to acquaint yourself with the word of God. Examine it daily so that you will no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes- Ephesians 4:14

Key Nugget: It won’t be possible for any false prophet to swindle you if you are armed with the Sword of the Spirit which is the word of God.

Text: Revelation 2:18-23

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

A classic example of a false prophetess was a woman that Christ identified as Jezebel. She was a self-styled prophetess who taught and seduced God’s servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols.

Her body language and teachings were all seductive. The spirit of Jezebel is the spirit of seduction, idolatry and control. Even today we have many Jezebelic teachings flying around the churches. Anyone who teaches that God is only concerned with your spirit and soul but not concerned with what you do with your body is towing the same path with Jezebel.

The word of God says our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. The body is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 1 Corinthians 6:14

The sound doctrine of God says we should, “Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.’ 1 Corinthians 6:18-20

Concerning this false prophetess Jezebel, the Lord warned saying, ‘And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent.Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds.I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.’ Revelation 2: 19-23

Any so called prophet that does not flee from immorality but encourages or tolerates it is false. Beware of such!

Action Nugget; Do not tolerate the spirit of Jezebel in any form.

Text: 2 Corinthians 11:13-15.

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

There was a particular day that Paul and his companions were going to the place of prayer; they were met by a young servant woman who had an evil spirit that enabled her to predict the future. She earned a lot of money for her owners by telling fortunes.

She followed Paul and his team, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God! They announce to you how you can be saved!” She did this for many days, until Paul became so upset that he turned around and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I order you to come out of her!” The spirit went out of her that very moment.

When her owners realized that their chance of making money was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them to the authorities in the public square- Acts 16:16-19.

The lady was ‘prophesying’ using a spirit of the devil. There are many of such ‘prophets’ in many churches today. Surprising such churches are packed full of people who want someone to predict their future for them.

The fact that someone is able to describe the nature of your problems without you telling him does not make him a true prophet. And if he is not a true prophet, even if he sees and accurately describes your problems he cannot give you a lasting solution.

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works-2 Corinthians 11:13-15.

Satan cannot solve the problem he created in your life. He is a deceiver. His so called blessings come with sorrow. The word of God says, “The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it- Proverbs 10:22.

Reflective Nugget: Don’t be deceived into being manipulated into the crafty hands of the false prophets.

Text: Matthew 7:15-16.

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

One of the very signs of the Last Days is the proliferation of false prophets. In Matthew 24:4, Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.” In verse 11 of the same chapter, the Lord said, “Many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.”

We must beware of false prophets, who come in sheep’s clothing, appearing gentle and innocent but inwardly are ravenous wolves. The word of God says, we will know them by their fruits (character)- Matthew 7:15-16.

Any so called Man Of God whose personal private life contradicts the word of God is false. Anyone who says, “Do as I say but not as I do” is not genuine. Any prophet who is not Christ like in character or who does not reflect the holiness of Christ is false.  Anyone who demonstrates the gifts but not the fruit of the Holy Spirit is false.

The false prophets have gained so much ground because they ‘prophesy’ and say things that people love to hear. For example, many church goers love to go to religious places where someone will see visions for them.

We are in the time when people do not tolerate sound doctrine and accurate instruction that challenges them with God’s truth; rather they want to have their ears tickled with something pleasing. Therefore, they have accumulated for themselves many teachers one after another, chosen to satisfy their own desires and to support the errors they hold. They turn their ears away from the truth wander off into myths and man-made fictions-2 Timothy 4:3-4.

Many souls today have become victims of false prophets.

I once came across a man that decided to stop going to church. He abandoned the church for thirteen (13) years being a victim of false prophets. But God showed him mercy. He encountered the Lord personally and God directed him back to the church- this time he was sent to a church where he would hear sound doctrine.

Action Nugget: Don’t be caught in the web of false prophets.

Not An Author Of Confusion

Date: Sunday, 24th November, 2024

Text: Genesis 1:1-3

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

If you carefully study the creation story in Genesis 1, you will observe that indeed God is highly organized. In the beginning when the Lord saw that the Earth was without form, and void; darkness being upon the face of the deep, the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And the first thing that God did was to cast out darkness.

He said, “Let there be light: and there was light.” And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. Genesis 1:2-3; John 1:5

I pray for you that everything representing darkness in your life will bow to the light of God in Jesus name.

Darkness is synonymous to chaos, confusion and disorderliness. He created the plants before the animals and the animals before man. Why? This is because the animals need plants to survive and man needs both plants and animals for survival. You would notice that God’s creation plan was well thought out devoid of any iota of confusion.

Again the fact that God operates in times and seasons shows that he respects order and timing. He makes everything beautiful in its time- Ecclesiastes 3:11.

Everything causing confusion in your life will receive the touch of God and every puzzling situation in your life will be resolved by the Spirit of the Living God in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Father, let every chaotic situation in my life give way to divine orderliness in Jesus name

Symptoms of Spiritual Burnout

Date: Saturday, 23rd November, 2024

Text: Isaiah 40:29-31

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

One of the symptoms or signs of spiritual burnout is loss of joy. You would discover that your prayers and service of God that used to be spontaneous before becomes ‘mechanical’. Loss of joy results to lack of enthusiasm. The inner spiritual motivation is gone and you discover that you begin to struggle to fulfill your basic spiritual obligations. Before you know it you will find yourself failing and giving excuses.

Another sign that you are passing through a season of spiritual burnout is that you find yourself getting easily discouraged. Little things get you complaining. Frustration and depression may set in if nothing is done to refuel your spiritual tank.

In Hebrews 13:5, God has promised never to leave you nor forsake you. However, if you always feel disconnected from God and abandoned by him, you are already experiencing a burnout.

Disinterest in the things of God; apathy in spiritual activities like personal and corporate bible study, fasting, prayer, evangelism etc are other signs of burnout.

When you begin to doubt your previously firm spiritual convictions and you become critical in your spirit finding fault in your spiritual leaders; looking for loopholes in the doctrines of the Word Of God; you need to retrace your steps and go back to your first love.

The Holy Scriptures say, “He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might he increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:29-31

Are you caught in the web of spiritual burnout? It’s not the end of the journey. Just go back to Jesus your source of spiritual strength and wait on him. And as you wait on him he will renew your spiritual strength and restore your joy in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Father, please grant me speedy spiritual recovery and a deeper relationship with you like never before in Jesus name.

Avoid Burnout

Date: Friday, 22nd November, 2024

Text: Luke 5:12-16

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

When you are descending a flight of stairs you don’t need much energy just like descending into sin doesn’t require any much effort. However, ascending a staircase is more energy demanding

Similarly, doing God’s will is an uphill task and it requires the spiritual energy otherwise called the oil of grace.

In today’s world, so many that used to be on fire for God have suffered from burn outs. When you are so soaked in activities and do not form the habit of withdrawing to the secret place of prayer; burn out is inevitable.

When you are busy for God, you are like a battery that is being used. Virtues go out of you and you need to recharge your spiritual batteries from time to time. This gives you the opportunity to refresh and reinvigorate in God’s presence so as to carry fresh oil.

Just like you charge your phones from time to time you need to recharge and refuel your spiritual tanks from time to time. Fresh oil from the Lord gives you fresh grace and fresh revelations for the assignment. It is then your spiritual lamps can keep burning.

Men of faith don’t joke with their secret place of prayer. That is where strength comes from- strength to resist temptations and do the will of God.

During his earthly ministry, despite his very tight and busy schedule, the word of God says, “But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” Luke 5:16

Avoid burnout and recharge your spiritual batteries by spending quality time worshipping the Lord, studying the word of God, praying in tongues and in understanding on a regular basis.

Action Nugget: Charge your spiritual batteries regularly.

Direct Proportionalities (2)

Text: Psalm 42:1-2

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

When you love someone you would love to spend as much time as possible with such a fellow. you won’t mind travelling thousands of miles just to be with that person. Even if you have to spend much money in order to be with such a person you won’t see it as any barrier.

Jacob served his uncle Laban for seven years to get his daughter, Rachel, but they seemed like only a few days to him because of his love for her- Genesis 29:20.

David was a typical lover of God. He said, “As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? Psalm 42:1-2

He was the one that discovered that in the presence God is fullness of joy; and that at his right hand, pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11b

Mathematically speaking, we can safely conclude that time spent in God’s presence is directly proportional to the love of God. The more you love God the more time you want to spend in his presence; and the less you love God the less time you want to spend in his presence.

Many people claim to love God but their actions deny it. They find it difficult to spend quality time in God’s presence. They will come late to church and after spending thirty minutes, they are already bored and yawning. You see them looking at their wrist watches or playing with their phones.

When you find every other place interesting and God’s presence boring it shows you lack the Holy Spirit Of God and are rather filled with the spirit of worldliness. Such a person will be spiritually dry, not able to benefit from the joy, peace and pleasures available free of charge in the presence of his majesty.

Prophetic Nugget: May you be filled with the Holy Spirit so that you can enjoy the full package available free of charge in the presence of God in Jesus name.
