Text:  2 Corinthians 8:9

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

God delights in the prosperity of his servants and he is the one who gives power to gain wealth. The Lord has promised to open heaven’s treasury to his own children, the heaven to give the rain unto their land in his season, and to bless all the work of their hands: and to ensure that they lend to many nations, and not borrow- Deuteronomy 8:18; 28:12; Psalms 35:27.

The word of God says, “Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.” Psalm 112:1-3. According to the above scripture his divine plan is that your children should be mighty upon the Earth.

Though he was rich, yet because of you Christ became poor, that through his poverty you might be rich-2 Corinthians 8:9. It is therefore, not God’s plan for any child of his to be poor.

God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work- 2 Corinthians 9:8.

Exercise your covenant rights in Christ and take dominion over poverty in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Father, I agree with your plan to banish poverty out of my life and to make me prosperous in Jesus name.

Text:  Isaiah 53:4-5

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

During his earthly ministry, there was no record that Jesus Christ was ever sick but there were many records of him healing the sick. He carried a virtue in him that made the sick whole.

The word of God says, “Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:4-5

It is your right as a joint heir with Christ to be in a state of optimal health. Jesus Christ already paid the price for your health therefore, sickness has no right to hide in your body. The word of God also says, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth” 3 John 2.

Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. The scripture says, “But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.” Romans 8:11

Sickness in the body of a believer in Christ is a stranger and the word of God says, “The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.” Psalm 18:45

If you are in Christ, exercise your rights over sickness, command the strangers to fade away from your body and live in abundant life.

Prayer Nugget: I rebuke and cast out every stranger called sickness in my body in Jesus name.

Text:  2 Peter 1:1-3

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Believers in Christ are called to a life of obedience to the will of the Father- a life of holiness. Holiness is possible in this corrupt world. This is the case because by his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. 2 Peter 1:1-3 (GNT)

As Sons and Daughters of Christ we therefore have the right to boldly approach the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16

Another right we have is that of asking and receiving; seeking and finding what we seek and also knocking and having the door opened unto us. Matthew 7:7

You have right of access to the Holy Spirit who is the seal of our redemption- who is the Father’s deposit in us guaranteeing our inheritance in Christ, our hope of glory. Ephesians 1:13-14; Colossians 1:27

Prophetic Nugget: Receive the grace to walk in the reality of your rights in Christ.

Text:  John 1: 11-13

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

If something is your right, you are entitled to it; whereas if it is a privilege, you are at the mercy of the benefactor. You may need to beg for a privilege but you don’t beg for a right, rather you claim it. My own son does not have to beg me to feed him or clothe him- it is his right. When the time comes, he should just ask or simply remind me and it is done. Another person’s son does not have the same right except I have adopted him- otherwise any help rendered to him is a privilege.

In today’s text, the word of God says concerning Christ, “He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.” John 1: 11-13 NIV

Your right is your power and authority as a believer in Christ.

The word of God also further says, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,  and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together- Romans 8:14-17.

As a believer in Christ some of your fundamental spiritual rights includes right to use the name of Jesus; right to drive out demons; right to lay hands on the sick for recovery; right to speak in a new spiritual language; right to immunity from the attacks and venom of serpents; and right to neutralize the effects of poison if consumed- Mark 16:17-18.

If you are not yet in Christ it is obvious you are missing a lot. What are you waiting for?

Reflective Nugget: Your right is your power and authority as a believer in Christ.

Text:  Hosea 4:6

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

There was told the story of a man who wanted to migrate from England to America. He had saved money for the trip for about three years and finally he was financially ready for the trip. However, he could only afford to travel by sea which was to last about three weeks. Since he was operating on a low budget he was very careful on spending.

In order to cater for his feeding he had bought packets of biscuits which he consumed daily. When he was on board the ship, the passengers were invited to the table to eat several times daily but this man wouldn’t honour the invitation but stayed back in his seat content with his biscuits. This went on daily for the next three weeks.

Finally, on the very last day of the trip, one man who had been observing the conspicuous absence of this biscuit-eater from all tables was curious to know why he always stayed back while others ate. The answer of the man shocked him and made him laugh as well. The biscuit-eater said his constant absence was because he didn’t want to spend beyond his budget.

The man laughed and said, the moment you paid for the ticket, you already paid for the3-week  feeding. So eating on the ship was a right and not a privilege. His ignorance had robbed him of his rights as a passenger on the ship!

Many Christians are like this man who was living below his rights. The word of God says,” My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Hosea 4:6a

In the next few days we would be looking at our rights as believers in Christ.  The devil thrives in a believer’s ignorance. Ignorance is darkness and the knowledge of God’s word is light. Once you know your rights and daily exercise them, the devil will lose his grip over your life and darkness will disappear. Victory shall be yours in Jesus name.

Reflective Nugget: The devil thrives in a believer’s ignorance. Ignorance is darkness and the knowledge of God’s word is light.

Warnings (2)

Text:  Proverbs 27:12

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

The word of God says, “A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself; the simple pass on and are punished” Proverbs 27:12.

Most times, out of mercy, God often gives space to the sinner for repentance. He sends warnings and give a reasonable space for repentance.

In the case of King Nebuchadnezzar, he was privileged to get a 12-month space to repent of his wickedness but he took it for granted. He ignored the warnings, probably saying, “I will think about it later “. But later became never. The opportunity for repentance was wasted.

Eventually, the hammer of God ‘s judgement landed on his head and the most powerful man in the then world was sentenced to an irreversible 7 years of insanity.

The scripture says, “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance- 2 Peter 3:9.

The rich fool wasn’t that privileged, his own judgement came in less than 24 hours. So were Ananias and his wife Sapphira-  Luke 12:16-21; Acts 5:1-11.

Jezebel was privileged to be warned and was also given space to repent but she took it for granted.

Concerning her the Lord said,

“And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.

Behold, I will cast her into a (sick) bed (of suffering), and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.” Revelation 2:21-23.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

The fact that you are still breathing is a sign that you have been given another chance for repentance. Don’t waste it. Therefore, repent today and run to Jesus Christ for mercy, forgiveness and salvation.

Prayer Nugget: Father, I will not take your mercy for granted and I will not waste the opportunity I have for repentance in Jesus name.

Warnings (1)

Date: Tuesday, 8th October, 2024

Text:  Matthew 2:1-12

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

On a pack of cigarette the smokers see a warning sign that says, “The Federal Ministry of Health warns that smokers are liable to die young.” This notification is not to intimidate anybody but to open the eyes of potential consumers of the product about the dangers of smoking. It is now left to each individual to decide whether he wants to suffer the consequences of such acts or not.

God is a God of love. Whenever he sense danger ahead of men he often send his warnings through his word, servants and prophets.  The objective of warnings from the Lord is to prevent avoidable danger.

Warnings from God should not be ignored. It is like a referee giving a yellow card to an erring football player. If he keeps ignoring the warning he would eventually get a red card that would lead to his eviction from the football pitch.

The three wise men that came to worship baby Jesus were warned in a dream not to honour  Herod’s request by returning to his palace. They obeyed and went to their country via another route-Matthew 2:1-12.

A prophet was warned neither to eat nor drink on his journey but he fell for the deceit of a fake senior colleague. The end of him was pathetic as he was devoured by a lion- 1 Kings 13:11-34.

When you are privileged to receive divine warnings, please, don’t joke with it. Take it seriously and adjust accordingly.

Prayer Nugget: Father, I ask for a heart that readily complies with divine warnings in Jesus name.

Corrections (2)

Date: Monday, 7th October, 2024

Text:  Hebrews 12:5-11

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Correction is meant to bring an erring person back to the right path. However, when correction is ignored or resisted God may decide to enforce it through punishment or suffering- this is what we call Divine Chastening or Chastisement.

A well known story is that of Jonah who was sent to Nineveh but decided to head to Tarshish. The storm, the sailors, the deep waters, and whale were all used as divine tools to bring Jonah back to his right spiritual senses- Jonah 1-3.

The Psalmist said, “Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word. It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes- Psalm 119:67, 71.

If you have come into the mature level of sonship, where you crack spiritual bones; you have passed the stage of milk- Hebrews 5:13-14. Milk is for babies- newly born again converts, spiritually immature; one who is not yet accustomed to the word of righteousness- you may still be ‘pampered’, but as you advance in your relationship with God, he will begin to treat you as sons.

Legitimate sons are chastened by their Fathers. “For whom the Lord loves He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives.” If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.” Hebrews 12:6-8.

Note however, that, “Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.” Hebrews 12:11

Prophetic Nugget: Receive grace to respond to divine corrections in Jesus name.

Judge Not

Date: Thursday, 4th October, 2024

Text: Matthew 7:1-5

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

In today’s text the Lord Jesus Christ taught us to abstain from judging or condemning others. He gave reasons- the way you judge others, will you be judged; the rules you used to condemn others will also be used by God against you. Does this mean God condones sin or wrongdoing? Certainly, not!

What Christ is simply saying is that instead of condemning others give room for mercy. Allow the spirit of forgiveness instead of vengeance. A very good illustration of this is found in John 8:1-11 where a woman was caught in the act of adultery.

The religious leaders had picked stones and were eager to condemn her according to the Law of Moses; and they wanted Jesus to give his verdict. But mercy prevailed over judgement and the Lord told them that the only person qualified to stone the woman to death was the one who had never sinned. Nobody was qualified except Christ himself alone.

The word of God says, “If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you”. Psalm 130:3-4. Again the scriptures say, “The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in mercy. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.” Psalm 103:8-10

Jesus told the adulterous woman to go and forsake her sinful lifestyle- John 8:11. Though she escaped the first time, she may not be lucky to keep escaping if she continue with her sinful lifestyle.

God expects us to show mercy in our dealings with others because, “Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.” Matthew 5:7

Reflective Nugget: God will not show mercy when he judges the person who has not been merciful; but mercy triumphs over judgment- James 2:13.

Repetitive Dreams

Date: Thursday, 3rd October, 2024

Text: Genesis 41:17-32

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Sometimes when God sends you a message in a dream, it comes to you again and again. At times you see exactly the same thing and at other times you get the same message in different forms. When you see these what is the significance?

In today’s text Pharaoh the Egyptian king dreamt that he was standing on the bank of the Nile River, when seven cows, fat and sleek, came up out of the river and began feeding on the grass. Then seven other cows came up which were thin and bony. They were the poorest cows he had ever seen anywhere in Egypt. He saw that the thin cows ate up the fat ones, but no one would have known it, because they looked just as bad as before. Then he woke up.

Again he also dreamed that he saw seven heads of grain which were full and ripe, growing on one stalk. Then he saw seven heads of grain sprouted, thin and scorched by the desert wind, and the thin heads of grain swallowed the full ones and he woke up the second time.

When he invited Joseph to assist him interpret his dreams, he made it clear to the king that the two dreams meant the same thing. God was only showing the king what he was about to do so that the king could prepare for the looming global event. There was going to be seven years of great plenty in all the land of Egypt to be immediately followed by seven years of famine, and all the good years would be forgotten, because the famine was going to ruin the country. The time of plenty was going to be entirely forgotten, because the famine which would follow was going to be so terrible.

Joseph the dream interpreter told him that the repetition of his dream meant that the matter was fixed by God and that he would make it happen in the near future. In other words the matter was certain to happen and was to happen soon. Genesis 41:17-32

Reflective Nugget: Whenever God sends you a message in a dream repeatedly, it’s urgent and sure to happen. Take serious steps to prepare.
