He Knows You

Date: Thursday, 16th May, 2024

Text: Psalm 139:13-16

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Each of us is unique in his own way. There are no two people in the world that look exactly the same in everything. That means you are special. And that is why it is wrong for you to compare yourself with others. Be thankful to God for who you are; for what you have and what you don’t have.

More than you know yourself God knows you. He has a purpose for your life and so you are purpose-built. You will discover that you lack certain attributes that are found in others. You lack those attributes because your purpose in life may not require them. And if you feel anything is wrong with you or mussing in your life, it is only right for you to go back to your Manufacturer. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you”- Matthew 7:7.

David said to God, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be-Psalm 139:13-16.

He knows what will work for you and what will not. He has the password of your life; only him has the formula of success that will work for you. If another person uses the same formula, it may not work. Each person has to receive his own from God. The fact that someone you know is successful in a business venture does not mean you should go into the same business.

He told Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5

Many of us struggle in life because we have not realized the above truths. You need to seek the Lord Jesus Christ who knows you more than you know yourself. Surrender to his management and watch him guide you to the uttermost.

Prayer Nugget: Lord Jesus I acknowledge that you know me more than I know myself; please, guide me to the very end.

Text: Hebrews 4:14-16

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Apart from the fullness of joy and pleasures at his right hand, there are many other virtues that flow from God’s presence. Fire also goes before him and consumes his enemies roundabout- Psalm 97:3

He covers himself with light as with a garment (Psalm 104:2a); therefore, anyone who is troubled by the powers of darkness can find deliverance in his presence.

The word of God says, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16

Mercy makes him to forgive all our sins, heal all our diseases, redeems our lives from the pit of Hell and crowns us with love and compassion;he satisfies our desires with good things so that our youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Psalm 103:3-5

Mercy flows abundantly from his presence. May you be a beneficiary of God’s mercy in Jesus name.

The throne of God is named the Throne of Grace. His Grace offers salvation to all people, teaching us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age- Titus 2:11-12.

That same grace brings favour that singles a man out from the crowd for special divine assistance. This season, may you be a candidate of God’s grace.

Prayer Nugget: Father, please, let me be a beneficiary of your mercy and grace in Jesus name.

Text: Exodus 33:14-16

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Moses the leader of Israel knew the importance of God’s presence and that is why he insisted that the Lord should go with them in all their travels. He told God saying, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?” Exodus 33:15, 16

The difference between those who are in darkness and those who live in the light of His word is the presence of God.

The Lord replied Moses saying, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:14. His presence brought terror on the towns all around them so that no enemy pursued them and those that did were overcome.

Personally, Moses the man of God lived up to the age of 120 and the word says, “His eye was not dim, nor his natural force (physical strength) abated.- Deuteronomy 34:7. What a special grace!

David said, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4. When God’s presence is with you, you have nothing to fear. His rod of discipline and staff of guidance will be there to lead you all the way.

Prayer Nugget: Father, have mercy on me and let your presence always be with me in Jesus name.

Text: Acts 5:1-11

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

I heard a song many years ago which said, “In your presence anything goes”; suggesting that worshippers are at liberty to behave anyhow in God’s presence. But that cannot be correct. Even before human kings, governors and presidents you cannot behave anyhow. If you can comport yourself in the presence of a human leader whose breath is in his mouth, how much more the King of kings and the Lord of lords?

In Malachi 1:6, God said, “A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? And if I be a master, where is my fear? Saith the Lord of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, wherein have we despised thy name? Malachi 1:6

Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron were priests ; but they offered strange (unauthorized) fire before the Lord. God found their sacrifice offensive and consumed the two men with fire. When Aaron, their father asked Moses why the Lord did such a tragic thing, Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord spoke of when he said: “‘Among those who approach me
I will be proved holy; in the sight of all the people I will be honored.’” Leviticus 10:3

A similar thing happened to another family in Acts 5. A man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira also sold a piece of property. With his wife’s full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles’ feet. When Apostle Peter asked him about the transaction amount, he lied in God’s presence and died instantly.

Three hours later, not knowing what had happened, his wife arrived at the church and she was asked about the same transaction amount and in conspiracy with her husband, she lied in God’s presence and also fell down and died- Acts 5:1-11.

God is good and loving but don’t forget that He is also the Consuming Fire. So we must approach His presence with humility, reverence and honour that befits the King of kings.

Action Nugget: Always give honour to the King of kings and his glory will rub on you.

Text: Luke 1:5-20

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

In the presence of God natural laws are suspended and the supernatural holds sway. When that is the case miracles happen; signs and wonders become the order of the day. In His presence the impossible becomes possible and pronouncements become decrees that are confirmed immediately.

The parents of the greatest man born of a woman in the Old Testament had serious and prolonged delay in conceiving him. Zechariah and his wife, Elizabeth both lived good lives in God’s sight and obeyed fully all the Lord’s laws and commands. They had no children because Elizabeth could not have any, and she and Zechariah were both very old.

When it was eventually time for God to take away their reproach, He sent the angel Gabriel to declare the good news of the birth of John, the Baptist. But Zechariah doubted and he asked for signs to prove that the angel was saying the truth.

Zechariah said to the angel, “How shall I know if this is so? I am an old man, and my wife is old also.” “I am Gabriel,” the angel answered. “I stand in the presence of God, who sent me to speak to you and tell you this good news.” Luke 1:5-20

The only assurance the angel had was the fact that he was ministering in God’s presence. Therefore his words became decrees. Elizabeth conceived according to the word of the angel and, in due time, the baby John (meaning Favour) was born.

Spend quality time in God’s presence and watch Him do the supernatural in your life and convert your pronouncements to decrees.

Prayer Nugget: Father, please, make me a lover of your presence in Jesus name.

Text: Isaiah 45:2-3

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Problems or obstacles on your way stand as mountains or hills trying to prevent you from entering your Promised Land. But the presence of God will take care of them.

Demons tremble at His presence; at the name of Jesus every knee bows, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and every tongue confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father- Philippians 2:9-11.

When the Lord descended on Mount Sinai to give the Ten Commandments, the mountain quaked and smoked. The word of God says, The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.” Nahum 1:5

One of the things that happen in God’s presence is that everything presents itself in your life like a mountain or hill must relocate by fire.

The Lord has promised to go before you and level the mountains; to break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. His desire is to give you hidden treasures, and riches stored in secret places- Isaiah 45:2-3

Your mountains will skip away like rams, and your little hills like lambs at God’s presence in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Who art thou O mountain? At the presence of the Lord, I turn you into a plain ground in Jesus name.

Text: Psalm 16:4-11

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

If you were given the opportunity to be in the presence of the king of your town, the Governor of your State or the President of your country, you would most likely be very happy and feel very honoured. A man who is skilful and diligent in his business will stand before kings and not mean men (ordinary people) – Proverbs 22:29.

When Joseph was invited to appear before the king Pharaoh, the Bible says he had his beards shaved, removed his prison clothes and put on a befitting apparel fit for the presence of the king. Genesis 41:14-16. He dared not enter the human king’s presence casually; he had to look his best.

By the time he finished speaking with the king, his level had changed forever. The former prisoner had become the second-in-command to the king. By just spending some minutes or probably a few hours in the presence of Pharoah, Joseph, the incarcerated slave had become the Prime Minister of Egypt- the greatest country of the then known world! As if that was not enough, he entered the king’s presence as a poor and obscure single, but he left his presence, a celebrated married noble. Genesis 41:37-46

When you make it a habit to spend quality time in the presence of the King of kings, a lot of transformations will take place in your life. Are you currently discouraged, depressed and sorrowful? Cheer up! In His presence there is fullness of joy. Psalm 16:11

Action Nugget: Make it a daily habit to spend quality time in God’s presence and your life will never remain the same again.

Solomon’s Choice (2)

Date: Tuesday, 7th May, 2024

Text: 1 Samuel 16:9-13

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Solomon was made king though he was not humanly qualified being one of the youngest sons of his father. But that scenario was not new because even David, his Father became king under similar circumstances. He himself was the eighth son of Jesse; but when Samuel came with the oil to anoint the king, he found none of his seven elder brothers worthy of kingship. So it was favour that brought David from the back to the front row- 1 Samuel 16:9-13.

Therefore, what happened to Solomon was a trend inherited from David, his father. Just like favour can be inherited, so also bad luck can pass from your parents to you. If there are negative things that happened to your parents, you need to pray that you don’t inherit them.

Broken marriages run in some families; in some other families it is common that they have children out of wedlock either through pre or extra marital affairs. Barrenness is a common trend in some lineages.

For example, Abraham had a delay in child bearing till he was aged 100- Genesis 21:5; Isaac his son too had a delay till he was 60- Genesis 25:21-26. The barrenness also passed to Jacob’s beloved wife, Rachel, so much so that Joseph was born to Jacob in his old age- Genesis 29:31; 37:3. You can see the problem running from grandfather to grandson.

Have you noticed some great trends in your parents or lineage? Pray that they also happen in your life; they may not be automatic. Conversely, you need to deliberately pray away any negative trends you have noticed in your parents, lineage or ancestry.

Only Christ has the power to reverse the irreversible for you. Surrender to him today and watch him do the impossible in your life. Victory shall be yours in Jesus name.

Action Nugget: Pray in the great and pray away any negative trends you have noticed in your parents, lineage or ancestry.

Solomon’s Choice

Date: Monday, 6th May, 2024

Text: 2 Samuel 12:24-25

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

By normal human standard Solomon was not qualified to be king. He was not the crown prince (Amnon was, being the first born). In Israel, by inheritance, the right of kingship mostly fell on the first born. Solomon was not even among the first nine.

The circumstances surrounding his birth were ‘questionable’ by human moral standards. His mother, Bathsheba, had committed adultery having agreed with David to cheat on her late husband, Uriah. Uriah happened to be one of King David’s soldier servants.

As if that was not enough, David had murdered her husband and taken Bathsheba to be his wife. He was severely punished by God for this evil acts, though, as four of his sons were killed; his wives were raped in the public- in broad day light. David himself was temporarily disgraced out of the throne. 2 Samuel 12:11; 12; 1-25; 15-24; 1 Kings 2; 13-46.

Solomon was the second offspring born in that relationship; the first child was slain by God Himself. So, humanly speaking the tide of things were against a Solomon kingship.

David himself would not have chosen Solomon because the tradition was against his choice. But you know David would not take any major step without consulting God. I am almost certain David would have been shocked when God made his mind known.

King David said, “And of all my sons, (for the Lord hath given me many sons,) he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.

And he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts: for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father. Moreover I will establish his kingdom forever, if he be constant to do my commandments and my judgments, as at this day.” 2 Chronicles 28:5-7

So Solomon was God’s choice; in fact God sent the prophet Nathan to personally name him Jedidiah meaning, “Beloved of the Lord.” 2 Samuel 12:24-25. He found favour with God and so God jumped the queue to make him king and to make him the greatest king the world would ever have.

May you find favour with God this season in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Father, please, show me mercy, let me find favour with you in Jesus name.

Why Should You Forgive?

Date: Friday, 3rd May, 2024

Text: Matthew 6:14-15

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Forgiveness is an act of mercy and compassion; divine mercy is easily extended to those who have been particularly merciful- Matthew 5:7.

One of the reasons why you should forgive those who offend you is that you also are a recipient of God’s forgiveness. So he expects you to simply extend the same to those who trespass against you especially when they request for your forgiveness- Matthew 18:21-35.

In the popular prayer format handed down to us by our Lord Jesus Christ, he taught us to say, “forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us” Matthew 6:12

Forgiving others could also be a precondition to your own forgiveness. The word of God says, “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Matthew 6:14-15.

Unforgiveness can separate you from God and make him hide his face from you and when that happens your prayers will be hindered and the heaven over your head will be closed.- Isaiah 59:1-2.

Most times, forgiveness benefits you more than the person you are forgiving. So even if it is for your own selfish reasons, just forgive. When you forgive, it is not because the recipient deserves it but at least, you will have peace with God and are free from bitterness.

Prophetic Nugget: Receive the grace to forgive in Jesus name.
