Exhortation:

God specializes in bearing the burdens of his people. Christ made a clarion call saying, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29

This call is a general one to all who needs the help of God and the comfort of the Holy Spirit in one aspect or the other. Rest is available to those who have been troubled and tossed to and fro by the evil one. The Prince of Peace will still all the storms in your home, marriage, business, finance, ministry etc.

Again the word of God says, “Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55:22

We all have burdens that we carry from time to time. But God is faithful; he will assist our burdens.

The 3^rd stanza of the popular hymn says, “Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge– take it to the Lord in prayer! Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer! In his arms he’ll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.”

If you are not yet under the management of Jesus, why not repent of your sins, confess, forsake them and submit to the lordship of Christ today?

Text: Psalm 68:1-4

Exhortation:

The word of God confirms that the King of kings seats enthroned on the circles of the earth- Isaiah 40:22. The Lord Jesus Christ himself is seated at the right hand of the Father making intercession for the saints- Romans 8:34

However, occasionally he arises from his throne for one reason or the other. For example, when Stephen was being stoned to death because of his defence of the gospel, the Lord Jesus Christ who was sitting before rose up to personally give him a standing ovation- Acts 7:56.

When God arises on a man’s behalf several things happen. Firstly, your enemies will scatter  and those that hate you will flee- Psalm 68:1.

On the third day of his burial when it was time for the Lord Jesus to rise from the dead, The Father arose on his behalf, the stone blocking the entrance of his tomb was rolled away; there was an earthquake and the grave could no longer hold him captive. The enemy soldiers guarding his tomb were terrified and they became powerless like dead men- Matthew 28:1-4.

When they found themselves held in stocks and locked up in prison, Paul and Silas, at midnight prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the other prisoners heard them. God arose on their behalf and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed-  Acts 16:22-26

Another thing that happens when God decides to arise on your behalf is captured in Psalm 102:13 which says, “Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.”

May the Lord arise on your behalf this season and may he show you mercy and favour in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Father, please arise on my behalf and show me mercy and favour this season in Jesus name.

Text: Proverbs 14:12

Exhortation:

Simply put, righteousness means doing what is right in the sight of God. This implies that it is possible for something to be right in your own eyes but wrong it sight of the Lord. The opposite is also true.

Some conclude that something is right because it is the culture and tradition of their place of birth or origin.

Others consider something to be right because it is widely practiced or is in vogue. If a style is widely accepted by many, then some consider it to be ‘right’; but the word of God says, “Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you give testimony in a lawsuit, do not pervert justice by siding with the crowd.” Exodus 23:2. In other words the crowd can be wrong.

A whole village, town, city or country can be wrong if they make and live by ungodly laws. Nineveh would have been destroyed by God, if not for their national repentance.

Sodom and Gomorrah were not so lucky. Genesis 19; Jonah 1-3;

The Word of God says, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Proverbs 14:12

The final authority is God’s word- the yardstick or standard that determines what is right and what is wrong; not the world.

Action Nugget: Trust in the Lord (and his word) with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

Text: Psalm 127:3-5

Exhortation:

Today is Children’s Day in Nigeria and it’s dedicated to celebrating children all over the world, and for adults to remember their childhood experiences. It is indeed a special day to recognize, honor, celebrate and appreciate children

The foundation of a building determines the future of that building. Children whose foundations are built on the solid rock of God’s word would be able to withstand the temptations and pressures of life without sinking. The word of God says, “They that know their God shall be strong and they shall do exploits”. Daniel 11:32b.

May all our children be strong in the knowledge of God and may they do exploits in life in Jesus name. But for that prayer to be answered parents and guardians must be deliberate in taking steps in that direction. What steps are you taking to make that happen? What are you doing to lead your children in the paths of godliness?

What are you doing to make sure your children love the things of God? Some children find the things of God distasteful and boring because their parents did nothing to make a difference in their spiritual lives. If you as a parent don’t have a solid relationship with the LORD, how do you expect your children to do otherwise?

Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a real blessing. Psalm 127:4 says, “As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.”

An arrow is specially crafted to be aimed at a particular direction and to make a specific impact. In what direction are you aiming your arrows? Parents are the ones divinely saddled with the immense responsibility of building their arrows in preparation for a global impact.

May we not fail over our children in Jesus name.

Prayer Nuggets:

1, Father, thank you for giving us children.

2. Lord Jesus we bless your holy name for the lives of our children.

3. Father, please forgive us in any area we have erred concerning the parenting of our children in Jesus name.

4. Father please, in your infinite mercy, remember the barren ones and open their wombs in Jesus name.

5. Let the pregnant ones not miscarry but carry their babies to term and deliver spontaneously in Jesus name.

6. Father, let it be well with our children in Jesus name.

7. Our children will not be sons and daughters of Belial in Jesus name.

8. May our children be taught of the Lord and may their peace be great in Jesus name.

9. Father we pray that your spirit and presence will never depart from the lives of our children in Jesus name.

Text: Isaiah 6:1-8

Exhortation:

During Isaiah’s glorious encounter with God, he heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then Isaiah said, “Here am I; send me.” Isaiah 6:8.

God will never force himself on anyone. He has given us the freewill to choose the way to go. But we are responsible for our choices (we can’t blame anyone for our choices) and would be judged for them, whether good or bad.

The word of God says, “Your people shall be volunteers in the day of your power; in the beauties of holiness, from the womb of the morning, you have the dew of your youth.-Psalm 110:3 NKJV.

Isaiah volunteered himself to be a willing vessel in the hand of God and the Lord used him mightily. When you release your time, talent and treasure for the use of the King of kings, you have nothing to lose except your chains, sicknesses, sorrow, poverty and pains.

However, for God to use you, you must first surrender to him for cleansing. When Isaiah realized the filthiness of his lips, he condemned himself as unfit for the Master’s use. But God had mercy on him and sent one of the ministering angels to purge his lips with fire. Isaiah 6:4-6

The Lord is still in the business of purging souls who have made themselves available. Come as you are but surrender to Christ’s lordship. He specializes in qualifying the unqualified. He will show you mercy; purge you and use you for his glory; only make yourself available and depart from iniquity.

Prayer Nugget: Father, I am a willing vessel; here am I, send me.

Exhortation:

The agenda of God for mankind requires the cooperation of men for it to be accomplished on Earth. That is why Paul the Apostle wondered saying, “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” Romans 10:14-15

Unfortunately, many of us are “so busy”. We give excuses as to why we cannot get involved in the business of soul winning. But the king’s business requires haste because each person’s individual stay on Earth is limited by time.

Many a man die unsaved everyday and are now hopelessly languishing in Hell. But Christ has actually paid the full price for our redemption and completed the work of Salvation on the Cross of Calvary. However, this Good news needs to be conveyed to all men in a language they would understand.

T he harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few. Can God count on you to make yourself available?

There are eternal rewards for those who take the soul winning task seriously. The word of God says, “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” Daniel 12:3

Prayer Nugget: Father, I make myself available, use me in Jesus name.

Text: Proverbs 28:13

Exhortation:

God is plenteous in mercy. The Psalmist says, “As a father has compassion on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed,
he remembers that we are dust.” Psalm 103:13-14. Again he says, ^“Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord; Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you.” Psalm 1301-4

However, mercy has conditions. The word of God says, “He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.” Proverbs 28:13. A sinner that acknowledges his sin and repents from them will attract God’s attention.

Even though the Bible says the prayer of a sinner is an abomination to God (Proverbs 28:9), one prayer of a sinner that God cannot ignore is a genuine cry for mercy from a repentant heart.

The sacrifice of God is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart God, will not despise. Psalm 51:17.

When a sinner genuinely repents one sure sign you will observe is that he will forsake that sin and never return to it again. Such a person will easily obtain mercy from God.

This season may you be a recipient of God’s mercy in Jesus name.

Action Nugget: Do not try to cover up your sins, but rather confess, renounce and forsake  them .

Text: Psalm 34:19-21

Exhortation:

Bright lamps have the tendency to attract flying insects like moths, flies, mosquitoes, beetles etc; occasionally even colliding with light bulbs head on; in fact the brighter the lamp, the more the flies it would attract.

Similarly, the more the glory you carry, the more the demonic flies you will attract. By demonic flies, we mean the satanic opposition you will attract to attempt to stop you. The greater the glory, the stronger the opposition you would attract from the kingdom of darkness.

Moses was not an ordinary child; he had a glorious mission right from birth. He was destined to deliver Israel from a 400 year long bondage. The devil knew ahead and so he tried to destroy Moses right from infancy. After the death of Joseph, a pharaoh emerged who did not acknowledge Joseph and his contributions to Egyptian national development.

This particular Pharoah became envious of the prosperity of Israel and gave a destructive decree to Nurses and Midwives that all male children born to Israelites should be killed right from the points of delivery. Moses was born at this dangerous time. But God miraculously saved his life- Exodus 1: 1-22; 2:1-10.

A similar scenario played out when the Lord Jesus Christ was born. King Herod became envious when he heard from the three wise men (Magi) that Christ was born as a king. He felt threatened insecure and furious; he gave a harsh decree to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi. His intention was to eliminate Christ before his glory would manifest. But once again God outsmarted him and Jesus survived- Matthew 2:1-18.

The devil doesn’t waste his time with something that has no value. If you are experiencing very strong opposition; it is not a sign that God has abandoned you but rather a sign that you carry a glorious destiny.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; not one of them is broken. Evil shall slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous shall be condemned- Psalm 34:19-21

Prayer Nugget:  Father, I put my hope in you; please deliver me from every affliction of the enemy in Jesus name.

Text: Deuteronomy 28:1-2

Exhortation:

In the physical realm there are many scientific laws and theories. These are universal principles that work under specified conditions. If those conditions are not fulfilled the laws may fail to work.

For example there is a physical law that states that the extension or compression of a spring is directly proportional to the applied force as long as the limit of elasticity is not exceeded. Once the limit of elasticity is exceeded the law fails to work.

The word of God cannot fail, it is man that fail to fulfill the conditions necessary.  Today’s text says, “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God” Deuteronomy 28:1-2

God is no respecter of persons but in every nation he that fears him, and works righteousness, is accepted by him- Acts 10:34-35 .What he has done for others he will do for you. He is faithful to his word. He constantly watches over his word to bring it to pass.

His word says, “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house,
And try Me now in this, Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.

“And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” Says the Lord of hosts;
 “And all nations will call you blessed, For you will be a delightful land,” Says the Lord of hosts”- Malachi 3:10-12.

If there are any issues that make it appear as if the word of God isn’t working, look inwards and check your obedience level. Ensure that you have fulfilled your own part of the deal.

His Word is his covenant and covenants have terms and conditions. He is a covenant keeping God. Just make sure you do your own part of the deal and watch God rain his avalanche of blessings on you.

Prayer Nugget: Father, please empower me with supernatural grace to always carefully fulfill the terms and conditions of your covenant in Jesus name.

Text: Isaiah 46:4

Exhortation:

Right from conception the favour of God has selected you. From among the millions of sperm cells competing for the same spot, you won! And that is neither by your power nor by your making. God’s hand guided you; his mercy and grace chose you. You must be indeed special!

In today’s text, God said, “Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” Isaiah 46:4

To carry you means to take care of you. All you need for life and godliness will be supplied by him . He has assured you of his power to rescue, save and deliver from every trouble or trouble maker.

He that began the work is able and faithful to see you through to the very end. That is why Christ is called the Alpha and Omega; the Beginning and the Ending. He is the one who is and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty- Revelation 1:8. This implies that God knows your present, past and also holds your future.                       

So many folks are held in bondage by the fear of death. But if you believe in salvation through the death and resurrection of Christ, the word of God promises you saying, “With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.” Psalm 91:16. This means, as long as you are under the management and lordship of the Lord Jesus Christ, you should rest that you will not die before your time.

Till your old age the Lord will carry you; He will command His angels in regard to you,
To protect and defend and guard you in all your ways of obedience and service. They will lift you up in their hands, So that you do not strike your foot against a stone.he will instruct  he will go ahead of you.

In Jesus name you will finish strong.
