Because He Lives

Date: Sunday, 31st March, 2024

Text: 1 Corinthians 15:54-57; Hebrews 7:25

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

The Lord Jesus came from Heaven to the Earth to show us the way to life eternal; from the Earth He went to the Cross to pay our debt ; and from Cross he went to the grave; on the third day, he ascended to the sky to meet the Father. Forever, he lives to make intercession for us. Hebrews 7:25B

Bill and Gloria Gaither wrote a song whose chorus says,

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,

  Because He lives, all fear is gone;

Because I know He holds the future,

And life is worth the living,

  Just because He lives!

Because he lives, we are forgiven and we have the hope of eternal life. We have crossed over from darkness to light and we have been translated from the death to everlasting life. Because he lives, our names are written in the Book of Life and we have escaped eternal damnation. Because he lives, our tomorrow is guaranteed by the seal of the Holy Spirit in us.

Because he lives, death has been vanquished and the host of hell defeated. Because Jesus lives, we are more than conquerors. Because he lives we have fellowship with the Father and we can always approach the Throne of Grace boldly.

Beloved, life is worth living because Jesus lives! Happy Easter!

Prayer Nugget: Lord Jesus, thank you for the sacrifice you made on my behalf. I can face tomorrow because you are alive, and neither sleeps nor slumber.

The All-Knowing God (4)

Text: Psalm 37:37-40

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Majority of people would love to know what their future holds so that they can either prepare for it or manipulate it to their advantage. This where the All-Knowing God comes in. He is the Alpha and Omega; the Beginning and the Ending. He is the One who sees the end from the beginning. Your future is in his hands.

The word of God has accurately predicted the future of everybody, depending on whose side you are on. Isaiah 3:10-11 tells us, saying: “Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them , for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him, for the reward of his hands shall be given him.”

In today’s text, the word of God says, “Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright;
For the future of that man is peace. But the transgressors shall be destroyed together;
The future of the wicked shall be cut off.

But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their strength in the time of trouble. And the Lord shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in Him.” Psalm 37:37-40

The Spirit of God spoke through David, saying, “I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.  He is ever merciful, and lends; and his descendants are blessed”- Psalm 37: 25-26

By now you can see your future through the telescope of God’s word. Righteousness and holiness is a great determining factor in having a great future. Things may be rough today, but as long as you stay holy and carefully follow the principles of God’s word, your tomorrow will be alright in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Father, I put my hope in you, please, let my tomorrow be alright in Jesus name.

The All-Knowing God (3)

Text: Psalm 46:1-3

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

The All-Knowing God is the same yesterday, today and forever- Hebrews 13:8. The word of God in Revelation 4:8 described him as the One who was, and is, and is to come.

However, in Revelation 1 8 our Lord Jesus Christ was introduced as the one who is, who was and who is to come. Notice that he didn’t start with the ‘was’ but the ‘is’. In other words, here , the Lord placed more emphasis on the NOW- on your current situation.

The Lord is very much aware of what you are currently going through. God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.  Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging- Psalm 46:1-3

He knows you are due for that promotion, he is aware you are due for marriage, the Lord surely knows your pain, your fears and he is ready to assist.

He says, come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Suicide is never an option. You are not alone in your current situation and trouble.

Just make sure you are on His side. If you have not surrendered your life to the lordship of the Lord Jesus Christ, do so quickly. Repent from all sins, confess and forsake them. Determine to live holy from now on.

He has promised that, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.” Isaiah 43:2

Action Nugget: The All-Knowing God is the Stiller of Storms and is just a call away. Just cry out to Him and He will stretch out His everlasting arms of salvation to deliver you.

Text: 1 Chronicles 4:9-10

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

The All-Knowing God is the One who was, who is and is to come. Therefore, he knows the details of your past, present and future.

The Psalmist asked a fundamental question, “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Psalm 11:3. If your foundation is faulty, don’t worry, just cry to the All-Knowing God. He knows what went wrong with you and he will visit your distant or immediate past to correct any faulty foundation there.

In today’s text we come across the popular story of a man named Jabez, who was the most respected member of his family. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, “I gave birth to him in pain.” Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request. 1 Chronicles 4:9-10

Abram And Sarai were barren for several decades. They were trusting God for the fruit of the womb but they did not know what to do to break the yoke of barrenness. But the All-knowing God knew. All God had to do was to change Abram (Exalted Father)’s name to Abraham (Father of Nations); Sarai (my princess) was changed to Sarah (Princess-Mother of Nations). God also brought Abraham and his family into a covenant of circumcision – Genesis 17:1-22. Thus, barrenness was terminated in his family.

Is your foundation destroyed or are you experiencing an impossible situation? Cry to the All-Knowing God and he will sort you out this season in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Father, please, visit my foundation and repair any fault there in Jesus name.

Text: Hebrews 4:13

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

God has several attributes, one of which is omniscience. Being omniscient he knows all things. There is no secret that is hidden before him. The hearts of all men are laid bare before the all-seeing eyes of God.

Human judges can be bribed and they rely on evidence and witnesses before they can give their judgements. But in order to cover up their tracks, sometimes hardened criminals know how destroy evidences and eliminate witnesses.

The omniscient God does not need any evidence or witnesses before he decides cases because he was there when all incidents happen and always has firsthand experience.

In fact he knows the unspoken intentions behind every action of men. That makes him a perfect judge who cannot make mistakes in judgement.

Hebrews 4:13 says, “And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” This is why there no need covering up your sins. The word of God says, “He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.” Proverbs 28:13

Action Nugget: From today, live a life conscious of the All-knowing God to whom you must give account.

The Defender of the Vulnerable

Date: Tuesday, 26th March, 2024

Text: Exodus 22:21-4

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

It is common for the vulnerable in any society to be neglected. In many cases the poor, the orphans, fatherless, widows are even oppressed. Children are easily taken advantage of, so are strangers, asylum seekers and even the sick.

However, God identifies closely with the helpless, the weak and the vulnerable. The word of God says, “Do not remove the ancient landmark, nor enter the fields of the fatherless; for their Redeemer is mighty; He will plead their cause against you.” Proverbs 23:10-11

God is called the defender of widows and the father of the fatherless- Psalm 68:5. He said in his word, “You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child. If you afflict them in any way, and they cry at all to Me, I will surely hear their cry; and My wrath will become hot, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.” “You shall neither mistreat a stranger nor oppress him…”Exodus 22:22-24; 21a

Employers of labour are commanded by the word of God not to delay their employees’ salaries or wages. Such wages or salaries cry out to God against the employers- James 5:4. Show love to the disadvantaged; don’t curse the deaf (because he cannot hear) nor put a stumbling block before the blind (because he cannot see)- Leviticus 19:14

Children are specially loved by God and they are protected by a special category of angels who work closely with God and even see his face- a privilege not enjoyed by all angels. That shows you that God specially cares for children and any hurt done against them is taken very seriously- Matthew 18:10.

Action Nugget: Show love to all those who seem to be weak, helpless, defenseless or less privileged. And you will be specially blessed by the Lord.

You will Overtake Them All

Text: 1 Samuel 2:1-5

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

In the realm of the overtaking is allowed. The fact that someone has gone ahead of you does not signify that God has forgotten you. Many times we compare our lives with those of others; we complain, “My mates have achieved this, my colleagues have achieved that.” Each person’s timing is different. Just as our faces are different so are our timings.

Peninnah, Elkanah’s second wife got her children before Hannah. It seemed all hopes were lost. Though, she cried to God every year, it seemed her Heaven was closed. When the time came for her to be favoured of God, the Spirit of God inspired her to make a vow that changed her story forever.

Though Peninnah’s children were older in age but nobody knew them as they made no  spiritual impact in the history of Israel. Hannah’s son, Samuel, though came much later, carried a glory that has lasted for all time.

Are you experiencing any delay at the moment, and you have prayed and prayed and it seems nothing is happening? Worry not! God has not forgotten you.

God asked, “Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before Me- Isaiah 49:14-16.

Your time is here! Your Samuel will come and you will overtake them all in Jesus name!

Prayer Nugget: Father, I ask for the grace to keep trusting in you until my Samuel comes in Jesus name.

Enlargement By Gratitude

Date: Sunday, 24th March, 2024

Text: 1 Samuel 2:1-10

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

As we have seen in the past few days, Hannah’s prayer was answered as God gave her a son; not just a son but one of the mightiest prophets in the world history. She was not expecting more children as she asked for only one child. However, God tests us with a little to see our attitude before deciding to enlarge our coasts.

The word of God says, “The one who is faithful with little will also be faithful with much; and the one who is dishonest with little will also be dishonest with much”- Luke 16:10.

Out of gratitude, Hannah sacrificed several burnt offerings to thank God for eradicating barrenness from her life. She even dedicated almost a whole chapter singing God’s praise for the miracle of a baby boy. God was pleased with the aroma of her thanksgiving and embarrassed her with an avalanche of multiple babies- five extra babies, totalling six children in all!

Has God blessed you with a little? Are you truly grateful? Instead of complaining and grumbling, why not heartily celebrate God for the little you have and watch God multiply that little? Little becomes much when gratitude comes to play.

Jesus gave thanks for few fishes and loaves of bread, and the Father multiplied that little so much that it fed five thousand men excluding women and children; infact they all ate and were satisfied. At the end they picked up twelve full baskets of the leftover broken pieces- Matthew 14:13-31..

Prophetic Nugget: May the Lord enlarge you on all sides in Jesus name.

Pay Your Vows

Date: Saturday, 23rd March, 2024

Text: Ecclesiastes 5:4-5

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Yesterday, we saw how the Lord looked down from Heaven and had respect unto Hannah’s prayer. God knew that Hannah meant every word in her bargain. So it was that she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, and explained, “I asked the Lord for him” – 1 Samuel 1:20.

After Samuel was weaned she took him to Shiloh and dedicated him to the Lord to serve as priest as long as he lived. Samuel went on to become one of the greatest prophets that ever lived. He was a kingmaker and a king remover. He was a great intercessor in the order of Moses- Jeremiah 15:1.Wherever, he went in Israel, the elders there trembled out of reverence for God. He was a no ordinary child.

Did God leave Hannah desolate? No! God is a merciful God; she was compensated abundantly. The Lord did bless Hannah, and she had three more sons and two daughters. The boy Samuel grew up in the service of the Lord- 1 Samuel 2:21

What do you think would have happened if Hannah refused to pay her vow? Firstly, we may not hear of Samuel as we do today and secondly, God might not compensate and multiply her by giving her more children.

The text today says, “When you make a vow to God, do not delay to pay it; for He has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you have vowed- better not to vow than to vow and not pay.”  Ecclesiastes 5:4-5.

Several people are passing through so many difficulties today because they vowed and they refused to pay it and wondered why their problems come from. Pay your vows today and be free from afflictions in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Father, I ask for your mercy over every unpaid vows; by your grace I will fulfill them speedily in Jesus name.

Hannah’s Vow

Date: Friday, 22nd March, 2024

Text: 1 Samuel 1:1-20

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

In order to achieve results, sometimes you need to do more than just pray. You may need to prove to God that you are willing to go the extra mile in order to get what you want. What are you willing to part with in order to receive your miracle? What are you willing to sacrifice in order to advance God’s kingdom

Just as you have your personal needs to be met; God’s kingdom also has needs to be met from time to time. Most times we are engrossed in our own needs and are not sensitive to the needs of God’s kingdom on Earth.

In today’s text, we see an obvious vacancy in priesthood at Shiloh. Eli the High Priest was already very old and his two children, Hophni and Phinehas, priests who were meant to continue the priestly dynasty of the family were described as Sons of Belial; scoundrels and wicked men who had no regard for the Lord. By their actions they desecrated God’s temple.

They treated God’s offering with contempt by violently ripping off worshipers of their hard-earned offerings and they slept with temple ushers. Their sins were great in the sight of the Lord and God was seriously planning to eliminate them. The Lord wanted to replace them with a faithful priest, who will do according to what is in his heart and mind.

Barren Hannah sensed the need in God’s house and decided to meet that need. She made up her mind to go beyond just crying and begging God for a child. She chose to change her prayer point by entering into a bargain with the Lord.

Hannah made a vow, saying, “Lord Almighty, if you will only look on your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the Lord for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head.” 1 Samuel 1:11.

There may be many barren women in Shiloh at the time, but God heard the prayer of Hannah because her prayer point was unique in that it met God’s need for the hour.

Action Nugget: Are you in dire need of a miracle? Meet kingdom needs through your vow today!
