Text: John 14:1-6

Exhortation:

Yesterday, we established that the eternal life than Man lost in the Garden of Eden was what Christ came to restore. Christ is able to do so because He is the source of eternal life. The 4th verse of the first chapter of the Book of John confirms that “In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.”

Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6.

Therefore, in order for you to regain the eternal life lost through Adam and Eve, you need to repent form every known sin, acknowledge Jesus Christ as the source of life eternal, and invite him into your heart. Those who refuse to take this step will die two more times. They will die physically when clinical death occurs and they will die again spiritually in the Lake of Fire when they become eternally separated from God.

The Lake of fire is the second death according to Revelation 20:14. Whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire, according to the 15th Verse of the 20th Chapter of the Book of Revelation.

Those of us that hear God’s word and believe the words of Christ have eternal life, and shall not come into condemnation; but have passed from death unto life. We have also passed from death to life because we love one another. Anyone who does not love his brother remains in death- John 5:24; 1 John 3:14.

Life eternal is available to you, if you can take the right steps. What are you waiting for?

Prayer Nugget: Lord Jesus, I believe in you, please, save my soul, let me not end my journey in eternal condemnation.

Text: Isaiah 59:1-2

Exhortation:

In order for us to appreciate the meaning of life better, we need to look at the opposite of it, namely, death. The first place death was mentioned in the Bible was Genesis 2:17. The Bible says, “And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”

After Man ate the forbidden fruit did he die; after all his brain was still working and his heart was still pumping? Yes, clinically or physically, he was still alive but spiritually he was dead!

Let me explain. The original plan of God was for Man to live eternally in the flesh. So the concept of eternal life was God’s initial intention. Man was meant to be immortal but when sin came into the equation, both clinical (physical) and spiritual deaths were introduced. Then Man became a mortal being, having a lifespan.

So after Man sinned, he lost his eternal life.

Physical death is the separation of the soul from the body, while spiritual death is the separation of Man from God, the Author of Life.

Concerning spiritual death, the Bible says, “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” Isaiah 59:1-2.

Therefore, spiritual death means the loss of fellowship with God. Jesus Christ came to restore this fellowship. Will you allow Him?

Prayer Nugget: Father, I seek for a restoration of fellowship with you today in Jesus name.

Text: Genesis 30:26-27

Exhortation:

When some people step into your life, they wield certain influences, be it positive or negative. For example when Jacob began to manage his uncle, Laban’s agricultural business, he noticed dramatic positive changes so much so that when Jacob wanted to resign, his uncle-turned employer begged saying, “if I have found favour in thine eyes, tarry: for I have learned by experience that the Lord hath blessed me for thy sake.” Genesis 30:27.

The same thing cannot be said concerning Abram’s relationship with Lot, his nephew. In Genesis 12:1, God spoke to Abram saying, “Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee”. Abram (who later became Abraham) obeyed partially by departing from the country but taking with him, his nephew, Lot. From this moment God was silent, he no longer spoke with Abram.

The moment Lot separated from his uncle, Abram, God broke his silence and resumed his communication with him, Genesis 13:14-15 says, “And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.”

In order for peace and progress to reign in our lives and homes, we need to be sensitive to God’s leading. His divine instructions should be obeyed to the letter.

It is not everybody that fits with your destiny in life. Let the Holy Spirit guide your steps; let Him influence your choice of partners, circle of friends, business associates, employer, employee and so on. You will not miss it in your relationships in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Holy Spirit, I depend on you, please, choose my partners and associates for me all the way in Jesus name.

Text: Hebrews 13:4

Exhortation:

Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” Hebrews 13:4.

One of the major causes of failed marriages is marital unfaithfulness. A partner who is not disciplined before wedding will not be disciplined after. Don’t be deceived; wedding does not necessarily cure infidelity.

If you are truly a child of God, there should be no intimacy before your wedding. If your would-be spouse demands intimacy before your wedding, he or she is not likely to be maritally pure after the wedding. Therefore, cut off from any courtship that shows symptoms of immorality. A failed courtship is better than a failed marriage.

Unfortunately, today, many spouses-to-be saw the warning signs but they ignored them. They erroneously think their indiscipline partners will change after the wedding. Sadly, today, they are living with the ugly consequences of extra marital affairs.

When you keep your marriage bed pure, you attract heavenly blessings into your home, especially over your children. But the reverse is also true. You open your home to demonic attacks when you break your marital vows. According to Hebrews 13:4, God will surely punish all those who are immoral or commit adultery.

Prayer Nugget: My marriage will attract heavenly honour and blessings in Jesus name.

Text: Proverbs 18:22

Exhortation:

One of the secrets of longevity in lifespan is a blissful marriage. Proverbs 18:22 says, “Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord”. Your home will be Heaven on Earth if you marry the right person and Hell on Earth if you don’t.

It is easy to choose between a good and bad thing, if you are aware that one is bad and the other is good. But how do you know how to choose between two good things? That something is good does not mean it is good for you.

You can get to a shoe store and see a very beautiful and attractive pair of shoes; but after trying them on, you discover they do not match with your feet size. What do you do? I think the wise thing to do is to drop them and look for shoes that perfectly fit your feet. You drop the beautiful shoes not because they have lost their beauty but because they do not fit your feet.

What we are essentially saying here is Compatibility. Compatibility in a marital relationship means that both partners understand, believe in, and accept each other’s vision. Your partner must believe in you and your life goals and must be ready to support you in achieving those goals.

As regards compatibility, Amos 3:3 asks, Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

You should marry someone with whom you share the same faith and passion for God; someone you are physically attracted to and whom you enjoy being around. Marry someone you are comfortable with; whom you respect and who respects you.

Marriage is not meant to be endured but enjoyed. You will not miss it in marriage in Jesus name.

Prophetic Nugget: May you find marital fulfillment in Jesus name.
